The Range 702 Range Masters Bryan Colston, United States Navy, and Carlos Campos, United States Marine Corps, will join other Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom Veterans and run to house local heroes during the 5K for Heroes.

Presented by America Helping Heroes and Horses4Heroes, 5K for Heroes will be held Sunday, April 21 at Sunset Park at 2601 E. Sunset Road from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Proceeds raised will be used to help house and care for local heroes who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Sponsorship information can be found at The Range 702 or online at americahelpingheroes.org/5kFundraise.html. To participate in 5K for Heroes call 888-270-4055 or visit americahelpingheroes.org.

“There are so many young veterans living in local homeless shelters due to unemployment and an overall lack of care,” says Angela Alegna, founder of America Helping Heroes and author of Coming Home Moving Forward - Obliterating the Seven Obstacles of Life After War.  “Can you imagine serving your country and winding up with no work or place to live? I have met many of these young veterans and their being homeless is absurd and unjust.”

The community can join together in 5K for Heroes and help some of these veterans get back on their feet.

“The participation of The Range 702 is particularly moving because they are showing support to their peers and fellow veterans,” Angela continues. “These guys are simply amazing. The Range 702 has many employees who have served in our current conflicts. I love any business that supports our newest veterans!”

About America Helping Heroes
America Helping Heroes is a non-profit organization founded by author/musician Angela Alegna. Deeply moved by the high rate of veteran suicide and homelessness, Angela wrote the ground-breaking book "Coming Home Moving Forward - Obliterating the Seven Obstacles of Life After War" (AB Publishing).

America Helping Heroes is based on the final scene of “It's A Wonderful Life,” with individuals who want to help connecting with those in need. As more and more communities across the country participate in what is fast becoming known  as the “Neighborhood Initiative,” America Helping Heroes is spot-lighting the many issues that affect our veterans and working on both a community and legislative level to create a proper foundation of coming home and moving forward for all combat veterans present and future.

About Horses4Heroes
Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Las Vegas, NV, Horses4Heroes is building a nationwide network of family-friendly, kid-friendly horseback riding facilities and equine-related service providers that support our mission to make horseback riding affordable for, and accessible to the families of the heroes in our communities including, but not limited to: military personnel (active duty and veterans), law enforcement officers, firefighters/EMTs, critical care and hospice nurses, special needs school teachers and families who are struggling with serious, chronic illnesses and/or disabilities.
