“There
are so many young veterans living in local homeless shelters due to
unemployment and an overall lack of care,” says Angela Alegna, founder of
America Helping Heroes and author of Coming Home Moving Forward - Obliterating
the Seven Obstacles of Life After War.
“Can you imagine serving your country and winding up with no work or
place to live? I have met many of these young veterans and their being homeless
is absurd and unjust.”
The
community can join together in 5K for Heroes and help some of these veterans
get back on their feet.
“The
participation of The Range 702 is particularly moving because they are showing
support to their peers and fellow veterans,” Angela continues. “These guys are
simply amazing. The Range 702 has many employees who have served in our current
conflicts. I love any business that supports our newest veterans!”

About
America Helping Heroes
America
Helping Heroes is a non-profit organization founded by author/musician Angela
Alegna. Deeply moved by the high rate of veteran suicide and homelessness,
Angela wrote the ground-breaking book "Coming Home Moving Forward -
Obliterating the Seven Obstacles of Life After War" (AB Publishing).
America
Helping Heroes is based on the final scene of “It's A Wonderful Life,” with
individuals who want to help connecting with those in need. As more and more
communities across the country participate in what is fast becoming known as the “Neighborhood Initiative,” America
Helping Heroes is spot-lighting the many issues that affect our veterans and
working on both a community and legislative level to create a proper foundation
of coming home and moving forward for all combat veterans present and future.
