Tacos & Tequila Cooks Up Mariachi Brunch For Easter!

With a mix of Mexican culture and Vegas flair, Corporate Executive Chef Saul Ortiz will cook up an authentic Mariachi Brunch for Easter Sunday at Tacos & Tequila (T&T) at Luxor Hotel and Casino, Sunday, March 31 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The menu offers a wide selection of egg combinations including Huevos Rancheros made with ranchero sauce, black bean puree and two eggs, any style, all served on a corn tortilla and priced at $13. Guests will enjoy Huevos Con Chorizo, a Mexican spiced sausage with scrambled eggs, potatoes and salsa verde served on a warm flour tortilla, priced at $11. Chef Ortiz will serve up his specialty dish, Chilaquiles, a flavorful mix of marinated chicken, red or green sauces, Panela cheese, crema fresca and onion served on a crispy flour tortilla, priced at $14.

In addition to breakfast items, guests may complement their meals with 2-for-1 T&T Top Shelf House Margaritas made with Jose Cuervo Especial Tequila and Grand Marnier served on the rocks, as well as Bloody Marias, T&T’s Mexican twist on the cocktail. The Bloody Maria is made with Jose Cuervo Especial Tequila, Chipotle Tabasco, fresh cucumber and olive juice that’s served with a green olive, Panela cheese and tomato skewer in a Gusanos salted rim glass.

Chef Ortiz recently appeared on Food Network’s, “Chopped,” where he was able to bring national attention to modern Mexican cuisine. Named one of the best tequila bars of 2011 in America by USA Today, Tacos & Tequila embodies the cool modernism of Mexico City while incorporating traditional elements of Mexican style and Las Vegas flair. The color mixture of old and new creates a vivid picture of brushed aluminum, dark wood, leather, bright fabrics and colored glass. The focal point of T&T’s design is its abstract sombrero composed of 20 brushed-aluminum panels featuring thousands of laser-cut images, including two 30-foot dancing, tequila-drinking skeletons. Lit from within, the breathtaking panels stretch across the entire length of the restaurant floor and across the common area, connecting the T&T retail store and walk-up daiquiri bar.
