Plenty
of straight-line and oval-track racing action is on tap this weekend at Las
Vegas Motor Speedway.
Sportsman
drag racers will take to The Strip at LVMS this weekend prior to the April 5-7
NHRA SummitRacing.com Nationals. The NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series –
featuring Top Alcohol Dragsters and Top Alcohol Funny Cars – takes to quarter
mile with a Test ‘n’ Tune session on Thursday, qualifying on Thursday and
Friday and final eliminations on Saturday. Other classes in competition will
include Top Stock, Top Dragster and Comp. Racing starts each day at 8 a.m.
The
Bullring’s 2013 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series opens Saturday night. Classes
will include NASCAR Super Late Models, NASCAR Super Stocks, NASCAR Bombers,
USLCI Legend Cars, USLCI Thunder Roadsters and USLCI Bandoleros.
Defending
Bullring NASCAR champions include Scott Gafforini (four-time Super Late Model
champion), James Wingard (Super Stocks) and Pete Meyer (Bombers).
The
Bullring’s concession stand features a family-friendly dollar menu, including
$1 hot dogs, $1 Coca-Cola products and $2 Budweiser beer. Spectator gates will
open at 5 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m.
