The Epicurean Charitable Foundation Has Started Searching For Recipients!

Epicurean Charitable Foundation of Las Vegas (ECF) has launched its search for the 2013 scholarship recipients this January. Clark County high school seniors who are passionate about pursuing a career in the culinary or hospitality industry will be selected this spring.

To be eligible, students must be Clark County high school seniors with plans to attend an accredited post-secondary institution as a full-time student during the academic year following their graduation. Applicants must also pursue a bachelor’s degree and major in hotel management, food and beverage, culinary or other related programs. Additional scholarship qualifications include a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher and demonstrate the need for financial support.

In addition to financial support, more than 25 top food and beverage professionals serve as mentors to the students, providing monthly one-on-one guidance for professional leadership, advising and academic counseling. The foundation’s mentorship program contributes a strong support system to ensure success for the hospitality and culinary industries’ future leaders.

“Every year we look forward to selecting new scholarship recipients from a passionate group of students with compelling stories,” said Jason Shkorupa, President of ECF. “These students are the future of the hospitality and culinary industries and are the foundation of why ECF was created.”

Applications must be postmarked by Friday, Mar. 1, 2013 and mailed to the ECF office located at 6765 S. Eastern Avenue, Suite 1, Las Vegas, NV 89123. Potential candidates may call 702.932.5098 or visit the website at ecflv.org for more information.

ECF works to change the lives of Nevada’s students and positively impact the community through generous contributions from donors including Southern Wine & Spirits, Wirtz Beverage Nevada, Diageo, Fiji Water, Coca-Cola, Johnson Brothers, MGM Resorts International, Caesars Entertainment and more. Future donors can support ECF with a monetary or in-kind donation, matching a gift, gift and estate planning or become a scholarship or M.E.N.U.S sponsor.
