On
Friday, hip hop legend Nas kicked off New Year's Eve weekend and headlined the
night at TAO with sounds by DJ Politik. After stopping for a few photos on the
red carpet, Nas was joined by friends in the dining room and enjoyed a
selection of the restaurant's signature dishes. The group headed into the
nightclub after dinner and took over a VIP table on the dance floor. DJ Politik
announced Nas' arrival and the club welcomed the music superstar. Later in the
night, Nas surprised club goers with an impromptu performance of his classic
hip hop staples including "Hate Me Now", "Made You Look"
and "If I Ruled the World"--stating, "I want to thank TAO for
having me...We're going to rule the world in 2013."
Spotted taking in the scene were
Laura Prepon, best known for her role in That ‘70s Show and actor Austin
Stowell from The Secret Life of the American Teenager, who were joined by
friends. US track and field Olympian Duane Solomon was also seen at a table on
the dance floor.
At LAVO Halfway to EDC continued
with Cosmic Gate, while ATB headlined at Marquee.
