Día
de Muertos
Friday
at 4:00 pm until Saturday at 9:00 pm
Celebrate
life and experience the rich customs of the Day of the Dead at the Springs
Preserve on Nov. 2 and 3, from 4 to 9 p.m. each night.
This
3,000-year-old Hispanic celebration honoring loved ones is full of joy and
tradition.
This
family-friendly feast for the senses blends rich customs with exciting
activities: live theater and dance performances, mariachis, traditional Mexican
food, face painting, sugar skull decorating and an art exhibition.
As
well, installed across the Preserve are the publicly created altars and
catrinas. Attendees can vote on their favorites in three categories, Traditional,
Artistic and Nonprofit, and with the input of a panel of community experts,
winners will receive cash prizes.
Tickets
are $8 for adults, $5 for children 5 to 12, and free for ages 4 and under.
Members receive 50 percent off admission. Buy your tickets online now at: www.springspreserve.org/apps/event/details.cfml?id=206
