Big Boi |
It
was a big weekend in Las Vegas for The Light Group!
After
an amazing performance by BIG SEAN at Haze Nightclub at the Aria on Thursday,
October 18th, the weekend kicked off strong at THE BANK Nightclub at The
Bellagio on Friday, October 19th by welcoming R&B legend BIG BOI to the
club. Big and his entourage jetted in from Atlanta earlier in the evening just
in time for sound check. Following dinner at YELLOWTAIL, the crew made their
way to THE BANK where Big Boi hit the red carpet for photos and took time to
greet gathered fans. Big Boi was excited to be back in Vegas if only for one
night and he and his crew took to their balcony table where they enjoyed
bottles of Stoli Elite and Dom Perignon's new limited edition 'David Lynch'
champagne. After 1 am, it was time for Big Boi to take to the stage. After
greeting the gathered crowed - which included "Surrogate" actor Boris
Kodjoe and "Die Another Day" and "Fast & Furious" star
Rick Yune - he announced his new album due to be released next month. He then
started his performance which was a mash up of old Outkast tunes including his
hit "Hey Ya" and newer stuff including his latest hit "Mamma
Told Me." After the show the crew relaxed before heading back to their
suites.
On
Saturday, October 20th, British pop sensation THE WANTED performed at 1 OAK
Nightclub at The Mirage Hotel and Casino. The boy band – minus member Siva
Kaneswaran, who had to fly home for personal reasons – caused quite a sensation
as soon as they arrived in town, drawing huge crowds of adoring female fans.
The band – who was followed by female fans during their entire trip to Vegas
even at the airport when they arrived and while waiting at the elevators!–
started the night with dinner at STACK, enjoying the restaurant’s Greatist Hits
menu, as well as steak and pasta Bolognese. After dinner, The Wanted arrived at
1 OAK Nightclub just past 1 am and gave an unforgettable intimate live
performance for partygoers at the Vegas hotspot, singing some of their hits
including “Glad You Came,” and “Chasing The Sun.” The crowd, especially the
ladies, went absolutely nuts for the group and everyone was signing along to
every word. Following their performance, band members Max George, Tom Parker
and Jay McGuiness chilled at a table stocked with Heineken and Dos Equis and
mingled with fans before calling it a night.
J. Cole |
Also
on Saturday, October 20th, J. Cole hosted an evening at HAZE Nightclub,
performing to an excited crowd. Going on stage at 2:15 am, J Cole admitted that
he was nervous to perform at HAZE the first time he came in March because he
wasn’t as well known then but was surprised when everyone knew his songs. This
time, he hit the stage and treated partygoers to a 5 song set before heading
back to his table, where he drank Hennessy and partied with friends.
