We
have wild burros available for adoption here in Las Vegas! These wild burros were captured because
people had been feeding them and the burros became accustomed to vehicles and
people and had become a nuisance and safety issue.
We
need your help protecting our Living Legends. Do not feed, water, or pet the
wild horses or burros. These types of
interactions cause the wild horses and burros to lose their normal, wild
instincts and encourages them to stand on or near the roadways. Remember they are wild animals and can be
unpredictable. This behavior also
creates a safety hazard for people traveling the roadways.
We
will be holding an adoption event at Oliver Ranch in Red Rock Canyon on
Saturday, September 22 from 10 am until 2 pm.
Directions
to Oliver Ranch:
From
the North-Oliver Ranch is approximately 12 miles from the Red Rock Casino.
Travel west on West Charleston Boulevard, look for the first right turn just
past the entrance to Bonnie Springs.
From
the South-At the SR 159 and SR 160 Junction travel northwest on West Charleston
Boulevard for approximately 4.5 miles. Oliver Ranch will be the second left
just past Blue Diamond, if you see the Bonnie Springs Entrance you have gone
too far.
