“More
than a musical, ROCK OF AGES is a party featuring music that ignited a
generation,” says Michael Cohl, Executive Producer and Chairman of S2BN. “It’s about fun, energy and having a great
time, so it’s a natural fit for Las Vegas.”
Set
in L.A.’s infamous Sunset Strip in 1987, ROCK OF AGES tells the story of Drew,
a boy from South Detroit, and Sherrie, a small-town girl, both in L.A. to chase
their dreams of making it big and falling in love. ROCK OF AGES takes you back
to the times of big bands with big egos playing big guitar solos and sporting
even bigger hair! A hilarious, feel-good
love story celebrating the great rock songs of the ‘80s including such
sing-out-loud songs as "Every Rose Has Its Thorn", "I Wanna Know
What Love Is", "Here I Go Again", "Don't Stop
Believin’" and more. ROCK OF AGES has been called “Impossible to resist!”
by The New York Times and “Insanely funny!” by Time Out New York.
“BASE
Entertainment is pleased to bring ROCK OF AGES to The Venetian Las Vegas on
behalf of its worldwide producer S2BN,” says Scott Zeiger, co-CEO of BASE
Entertainment. “Audiences have raved about ROCK OF AGES across the globe and I
am confident that Las Vegas will be no exception.”
“The
Venetian is committed to bringing memorable entertainment experiences to our
guests, and ROCK OF AGES certainly fits that bill,” says John Caparella,
president and chief operating officer of The Venetian, The Palazzo and Sands
Expo. “ROCK OF AGES is a fun, upbeat party, and we’ve created an experience
that continues even after the show, in THE BOURBON ROOM.”
Earlier
this year, The Venetian debuted THE BOURBON ROOM, a lounge inspired by the bar
in the musical, featuring ‘80s music videos and other hair-band antics. Theatergoers can start and continue the good
times at this new venue, located near the theater.
ROCK
