Beginning October 20
Photographer
Lamar Marchese will unveil a collection of candid photographs titled, Namaste:
Faces of India and Nepal, for an 11-week run at the Southern Nevada Museum of
Fine Art. The launch of the photo essay coincides with the significant Sharad
Navratri Festival - an Indian celebration dedicated to the worship of a Hindu
deity Shakti.
The
exhibit includes 46 large format 16 x 20 digital portraits selected from more
than 2,200 photographs, creatively illustrating young and old, rural and urban,
rich and poor men and women, in an attempt to reflect the diversity of the
people living in both regions of India and Nepal.
John
Klai and the Klai/Juba Lecture Series at UNLV and Cirque du Soleil sponsor the
exhibit.
