Friday,
August 31, Sky Blu of LMFAO kicked off Labor Day Weekend with a bang at Angel
Management Group’s PURE Nightclub with his DJ residency “Who Came To Party!?”
while celebrating his 26th birthday simultaneously.
Known
for his eclectic style, the GRAMMY®Award-nominee, singer, songwriter, producer
and DJ arrived at the mega-club wearing bright blue sequined pants paired with
a Big Bad University baseball t-shirt, gold chains, red wayfarer sunglasses and
red converse shoes. Pulling out all the stops for the last big party of the
summer, Sky Blu, joined by fellow Big Bad artists Mark Rosas, girlfriend
Chelsea Korka and BVillain, along with their large entourage made a show
stopping entrance as their large entourage was escorted through the club all
the way to the main stage stage. Exclusively for “Who Came To Party!?” PURE
Nightclub transformed into a performance artist’s haven complete with custom
built DJ booth, massive LED screen, go-go dancers, strobe lighting and more.
Also joined by his parents, Berry Gordy IV and Valerie Robeson showed their
support for their son as they were seated in the VIP booth directly next to his
performance area.
Just
after 1 a.m. Sky Blu grabbed the mic and rushed to the front of the stage to
welcome thepacked house and asked the crowd “Who Came To Party!?” Guests went
wild as the spotlights shined on the artist and he quickly became the center of
attention. All eyes were on him when resident DJ and close friend of Sky Blu,
Eric D Lux sveltely switched the music to play the “Happy Birthday” song for
the guest of honor. The whole club sang along as he was presented with a
themed-out “Who Came To Party!?” neon cake.
After
the birthday presentation, he started the set by performing his hit “Party Rock
Anthem” a song that he created along with LMFAO member, and uncle Redfoo.
Keeping guests on their feet all night long, he spun and sang his popular songs
“Sorry For Party Rocking,” “We Came Here To Party,” “Sexy And I Know It” and
many more including new hits “Pop Bottles” and “#Sexsong.” The performance DJ
took his residency to a new level as he incorporated dancers, instrumentalists,
special guests DJs and gave out swag and shots to the hardest partiers. The
four performance DJs and producers took turns manning the decks as they spun
their pulsating tracks while the others kept the crowd dancing all night long.
Sky Blu was full of energy throughout the entire night as he was seen dancing,
jumping around and shuffling down the stage. The three-hour electrifying
performance concluded as Sky Blu and his entourage popped bottles and soaked
the entire crowd in champagne while he played his hit “Champagne Showers.”
