Friday,
September 7, Jane's Addiction showed their fans at the Boulevard Pool at The
Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas that the rock veterans still have what it takes to
perform a cinematic live experience. Named to VH1's "100 Greatest Artists
of Hard Rock" list, the band jammed out to hits such as “Jane Says,” “Been
Caught Stealing” and “Mountain Song.”
Jane's
Addiction released their first studio album, Nothing's Shocking, in 1988 with
their most recent, The Great Escape Artist, being released in October of last
year. The hardcore rockers have made a name for themselves at numerous music
festivals including Lollapalooza and Voodoo Fest, and have been
Grammy-nominated in three different decades. Their songs serve as the Ten
Commandments for alternative rock, inspiring an entire generation of bands such
as Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl
Jam and Tool.
Next
up at the summer concert series at the Boulevard Pool is blink-182 on Friday,
September 28 and Saturday, September 29.
The
Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas features artists at the forefront of the touring
world and emerging artists that will inspire the next musical movements coupled
with spectacularly-designed, technology-driven venues. Perched high above The
Las Vegas Strip, Boulevard Pool is a multilevel pool experience by day and an
intimate outdoor concert venue with unobstructed sightlines of both the stage
and The Strip by night.
