2012 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series in Vegas!

The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s summer break ends Saturday night as the 3/8-mile asphalt short track resumes its 2012 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series season with a late-night special event. Spectator gates will open at 7 p.m., instead of the usual 5 p.m. and racing action is slated to continue into the early morning.

Classes will include NASCAR Super Late Models, Lucas Oil Modifieds, NASCAR Super Stocks, NASCAR Bombers, Legend Cars, Thunder Roadsters and Bandoleros. The Lucas Oil Modifieds will compete in a 75-lap feature race.

As an added bonus, the USLCI American Band Legend Cars (Semi-Pro/Young Lion and Pro/Master divisions) will compete in an additional feature race after midnight. The first Legend Cars features will be run before midnight and the second set will be contested after 12 a.m., allowing the drivers technically to compete in two points races in one night. With the Legend Cars races on Friday night during practice, the drivers will have the opportunity to race in three points-paying features, which traditionally attracts more competitors to the Bullring at LVMS. There will be no increase in admission or pit fees for the additional, after-midnight races.

Fans may save $2 by purchasing tickets in advance at the LVMS ticket office. Advance-sale tickets are $10 for adults ($12 on race day) and $8 for senior citizens and active military personnel ($10 on race day). General admission parking is free.

The Bullring’s concession stand features a family-friendly dollar menu, including $1 hot dogs and $1 Coca-Cola products.
