Info: Dubbed the “Céline Dion of country music,” McBride is one of the world’s
most successful musicians, with five platinum-certified albums, two
multi-platinum certified albums and one gold-certified album, all of which have
resulted in over 18 million albums sold worldwide. In addition, McBride was
awarded the Country Music Association's “Female Vocalist of the Year” award
four times and the Academy of Country Music's “Top Female Vocalist” award three
times, in addition to 10 Grammy nominations.
Beginning
with her breakthrough 1997 album, Evolution, McBride has released a string of
major hit singles including, “Wild Angels,” “A Broken Wing,” “Wrong Again” and
“Blessed.” McBride has reached number one on the Billboard Hot Country chart
five times and the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart once with her 2003
release, “This One’s for the Girls.”
In
2011, McBride released the album Eleven. The album’s first two singles,
“Teenage Daughters” and “I’m Gonna Love You Through It,” both broke into the
top 50 on the Billboard Hot Country songs chart. Her latest single, a duet with
Train singer Pat Monohan of the song “Marry Me,” is currently climbing up the

Info: Now appearing twice a month, hosts and singer/songwriters Brian McComas,
who wrote and sang “I Could Never Love You Enough,” and Aaron Benward of Blue
County, who wrote and sang “That’s Cool,” present “Nashville Unplugged: The
Story Behind the Song.” In addition to these two talented musicians, they host
well-known songwriters to create a fun and unique experience, akin to
Nashville’s Bluebird Café.
Wayne
Kirkpatrick’s songs have been recorded by Little Big Town, Faith Hill, Garth
Brooks, Babyface, Martina McBride, Trisha Yearwood and Peter Frampton, among
others. In 1996, Kirkpatrick co-wrote Eric Clapton’s “Change the World,” which
peaked at number five on the Billboard 200 chart and won the Grammy Award for
“Song of the Year.” Kirkpatrick’s success continued with the band Little Big
Town, as he produced and co-wrote the majority of the albums The Road to Here,
A Place to Land and The Reason Why. The single, “Bring It on Home,” reached
number four on the Hot Country 100 songs chart. In 2010, the Little Big Town
single “Little White Church,” which one again was co-written by Kirkpatrick,
peaked at number six on the Billboard Country Songs chart.
A
multi Grammy Award winner, Gordon Kennedy has written songs for musical greats,
including Bonnie Raitt, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Carrie Underwood, Faith
Hill, Tim McGraw, Martina McBride and Wynonna, among others. Kennedy
established himself as one of country music’s most sought-after writers, after
co-writing 10 songs off Garth Brooks’ album The Life of Chris Gaines, which
reached number two on the Billboard 200 chart. In 1996, Kennedy co-wrote the
hit single, “Change the World,” which was recorded by Eric Clapton and spent 81
straight weeks in the top 20 of the Billboard AC chart. Some of Kennedy’s other
popular cuts include Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Help You Now” and “That Kind of
Love,” which was recorded by Christian group PFR and awarded “CHR Song of the
Year.”
