Taylor Hick's Show at Bally's a music aficionado’s dream!

Taylor Hicks at the Indigo Lounge in Las Vegas provides a real music aficionado’s experience! Nothing hits the soul like real music with real musicians and this show has six of them, seven counting Taylor.  His voice is powerful and the performance that he gives his fans is straight from the heart! Covering songs like “In the Ghetto” (wink American Idol fans remember that one!) and a very different arrangement of “My Way” Taylor injects his own musical talent and charisma into each of these favorites. Taylor has an easygoing charming nature  that really works within the intimate venue, and of course his being handsome, well that is just icing on the cake.

The Indigo Lounge at Bally’s is an intimate venue with seating that works for everyone. With the sounds  of the casino in the background it is exactly like being transported back to the days of “The Rat Pack.” Whether playing harmonica or guitar every move of Taylor’s is genuine and real. The percussion section of the band is amazing! It is interesting to actually see the triangle as it is used in the song, you are engaging sight and sound at the same time and that is a powerful experience.

Back to the harmonica, Taylor plays some “chicken scratch” and it sounds exactly like “chicken scratch!” Afterwards when I asked him about the “chicken scratch” Taylor said “Well in the south when you see that the audience is not paying attention we would all do a little chicken scratch to liven things up.” It works, think of two chickens one a harmonica and one a guitar, there you have it!

During the show he performs homage to the service men and woman that “Make it possible for us to be sharing this night in Vegas.” The song includes a flute solo that is entrancing and patriotic. He also played an original song “The Deal” that dealt with relationships and as he said “If you want to find a good song about love in Nashville, find someone who is either in love or falling out of love.” His show provides a mixture of the Blues, Gospel, some Reggae and some American favorites. Would I go back to see Taylor Hicks? YES!

Ticket prices are $29.99 and $59.99, which includes a meet and greet with Hicks. Additional service fees apply.  Check availability by calling (888) 746-7784 or (702) 777-7776, or tickets are available in person at the Bally’s Box Office and online at www.ballyslasvegas.com.

  3. LOVED Taylor Hicks in Vegas! We saw him on the 14th and he was amazing, like always! Why, oh why, do his songs never end up being played on the radio? The "19" song is perfect for our times! He is a consummate professional, talented and a hunk to boot--the complete package. My only critique, after seeing him in other venues, is that it felt like a bird with clipped wings. Taylor likes to move around a stage and he wasn't able to do that. I felt the constraints of the stage, especially when he first came out. Give that guy a bigger stage, like he deserves!
