At a
time when the online poker landscape in America has slowed to a crawl, Ryan
Sayer has never been busier. The Chief
Operations Officer of OnTiltRadio.com, an online company which has successfully
produced some of the best original poker content found on the internet since 2006,
has a daily schedule rivalled only by the likes of Donald Trump. “Twitter, Facebook and phone calls,” he
says with a smile. “If I’m not dealing
with one of my partners on the phone, I’m focussing my efforts on enhancing the
OnTiltRadio.com brand. That involves
strong relationships and expert social networking.”
Co-founded by Pamela and Robin Jones,
OnTiltRadio.com is a full service internet radio station and Production Company
responsible for a number of critically acclaimed and longest running poker
radio shows on the web and is listened to in over 110 countries. New shows are debuting monthly covering
several marketable genres; everything from poker lifestyle to poker training
and from game shows to poker documentaries.
The site has been associated with such influential poker names, like
Poker Players Alliance Executive Board Member Rich Muny and popular
professional Kenna James and boasts shows like Poker Advocacy and Women’s Poker
Hour.
“We are an unrivalled poker radio and social
network with a long-standing reputation for quality and originality,” says
Sayer. “We are growing too much faster
than projected. We have dozens of live
shows, original programming and huge special events. It’s an exciting time for us right now.”
“Our guest tonight on High Roller Radio…”
blurts Derrick Oliver, Creator, Announcer and Program Director of
www.highrollerradioshow.com. “…Pamela
Brunson, the daughter of Doyle, the Godfather of Poker.”
Like Sayer, Derrick Oliver is working his
fingers to the bone, typing away in an effort to forge relationships that will
help his online brand reach the next level.
Oliver, who was once editor of Canadian Poker Player magazine and
Country Manager for Poker Pro Media, has in a short time built his site into a
known entity in the poker community.
“That’s how I met Ryan,” Says Oliver,
referring to Facebook and what’s become a social vice for many companies, large
and small these days. “I see it as a
win-win, where I’m getting recognition by aligning myself with On Tilt Radio,
benefitting from its production knowledge and global reach and they’re getting
an experienced radio veteran and some entertaining programming.”
High Roller Radio isn’t the only entity to
align itself with On Tilt Radio expecting to gain from the relationship. The Hog Wild Poker community, for instance,
has been able to benefit from visits byb top pros, legislative advocacy, player
instruction and charitable causes.
“On Tilt Radio is an expert at covering the big
games,” says Greg Friend of Hog Wild Poker Leagues. “Our players seem to love their coverage
regardless of game size and it seems On Tilt’s figured out how to make a poker
radio station consistently interesting.
It’s clearly on the creative edge of the industry.”
In fact, OnTiltRadio.com and
HighRollerRadioShow.com have developed such a bond they are co-producing a new
show, a national radio poker documentary, called the Fabric of Poker, which is
being sponsored by Poker Pro magazine and will debut this month. The addition of Poker Pro magazine is a huge
positive because of the publications’ massive online presence, which includes
22,000 ‘likes’ on Facebook and more than 86,000 e-subscribers to www.pokerpromagazine.com.
“The
Fabric of Poker will be an amalgamation of all our attributes,” says Oliver,
and seconded by Sayer. “This will be a
hard-hitting poker news magazine program that will not become sponsored
fluff. The hope is to launch it to rave
reviews and develop a piece of original programming that will become a must
listen to by players around the world.”
“If
that happens we all win!” says Sayer, who’s got big plans for this new
venture. “It’s going to be a one hour,
magazine formatted bi-weekly program we can present to potential advertisers
for terrestrial and satellite placement.
InfinitiPoker.com, which is new poker site that sponsors WSOP bracelet
winner Gavin Smith, has already bought ads.
We’re aggressive and socially integrated and our goal is to make the
‘Fabric of Poker’ a household name in the poker community.”
As co-producers, Sayer and Oliver, along with
Hosts Warren Schreiber and Eric Olsen, also have plans to make the show
accessible by mobile phones through their own ‘Fabric of Poker’ App and at
launch will be accessible through ITunes and the On Tilt Radio App.
If you’re a poker fan who likes to listen to
quality interviews with some of the games’ best players and the industry’s top
personalities, learn about the lifestyle of the players you see on television
and interact with other players then be sure to watch for the ‘Fabric of Poker’
at www.ontiltradio.com/thefabricofpoker.
