Celebs to show support today for Special Olympics at Fashion Show Mall!


To celebrate the approaching start of the 2012 Summer Olympics, The Forum Shops at Caesars is teaming up with Special Olympics and Caesars Entertainment to conduct the first-ever ceremonial torch relay throughout the famed, retail center. Special Olympics athletes will be teamed up with celebrities including Donny Osmond, Taylor Hicks and Anthony Cools for an exciting relay.

In conjunction with the torch run, participating retailers are donating a percentage of sales from that day to Special Olympics. Participating retailers at The Forum Shops include: Donald J Pliner, Antiquities, DKNY, Elie Tahari, Casa Fuente, Ted Baker London and Judith Leiber.

The relay will begin in front of the Reflecting Pool Fountain (at main entrance off of Las Vegas Boulevard) and will move up the spiral escalator to second floor with torch hand-offs near Ted Baker London, the Festival Fountain and the Fountain of the Gods. The relay will end in front of the Atlantis Fountain/Aquarium with the lighting of the official Special Olympics Cauldron.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) is the single largest year-round fund-raising vehicle benefiting Special Olympics Nevada. The annual intrastate relay and its various fundraising projects have two goals: to raise funds and to gain awareness for the athletes who participate in Special Olympics Nevada. Approximately 300 officers carry the Flame of Hope, running through all three regions of Nevada in May, to its final destination – the Opening Ceremonies of the Special Olympics Summer Games in Reno, NV.
