Celebrities
and world class athletes packed into Las Vegas’ premier nightlife venue, XS,
inside the luxurious Encore to catch the boasting beats of the young and
talented DJ sensation, Avicii. As part of the Independence Week celebration, XS
swelled to capacity within hours, with revelers still in town from the midweek
holiday and International Fight Week.
Among
the crowd was one of the most influential MMA fighters, Tito Ortiz with wife
Jenna Jameson. Ortiz was on the card for UFC 148, his last match as a pro UFC
fighter before making his official retirement. Though Forrest Griffin pulled
out the win against the MMA master in Saturday’s battle, Ortiz was inducted
into the UFC Hall of Fame ending his monumental 15-year career on a high
note. The happy couple was later joined
by former UFC champion Chuck Liddell, to help celebrate the beginning of a new
era in Ortiz’s life.
Later
in the evening, Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard, Kobe Bryant stepped into the
building. In town for the USA Olympic basketball tryout training sessions, the
recently announced roster contained the Lakers’ stud and Bryant celebrated the
achievement from a private table at XS. In a separate group, actor Sean Patrick
Flanery, most famous for his role as Connor MacManus in The Boondock Saints,
came out to join the Independence Week festivities.
DJ Avicii and Tiesto |
As
the stars and athletes continued to party into the early hours of the morning,
international producer Tiesto paid Avicii an onstage visit. The Dutch resident
DJ filled the venue with his tracks the previous evening as he kicked off
Independence Week and returned to the sophisticated venue to support his fellow
EDM artist.
Independence
Week at XS closed on Sunday evening with a special Night Swim soiree with Otto
Knows.
