The
Bourbon Room at The Venetian made its grand opening last night with a surprise
flash performance announcing the newest entertainment residency.
As
guests were enjoying signature bourbon cocktails and listening to the tunes of
classic hairband music videos, more than forty dancers joined the party in
their raddest ‘80s attire, jumping up on the banisters and making their way
through the crowd to the tunes of “Cum on Feel the Noize,” “I Wanna Rock” and
“Nothin’ But a Good Time.” As the flash performance dancers made their way to
the stage, president and chief operating officer of The Venetian, The Palazzo
and Sands Expo, John Caparella, took to the stage to address the crowd. “We’re
bringing you back to the ‘80s when VJs ruled the universe and when classic rock
was called rock.”
Mr.
Caparella continued, “We went to Broadway, we saw a show and we said, ‘This is
what we have to bring to Las Vegas.’ And that show is ‘Rock of Ages.’ So
beginning in December of this year, you will be able to see ‘Rock of Ages’
perform here nightly and at the end of the show the party will carry on right
here in the Bourbon Room.”
To commemorate
the exciting news, Mr. Caparella led the crowd with a toast of bourbon.
“When
we first conceived the show we always had an eye for Vegas because it felt like
the right environment for the type of show we wanted to make, which was just a
ridiculous, fun, no excuses, just have a good time, leave your inhibitions at
the door kind of Broadway experience,” said Chris D’Arienze, writer of “Rock of
Ages.” “So to bring it here to Vegas feels like home for our show.”

The design of the space is awesome! So raw and authentic. Does anyone know who designed it?
