After
six successful years of rocking out all day and night at the heart of the Las
Vegas Strip, the iconic hotspot Rockhouse Bar & Nightclub has announced
plans to close its doors on Saturday, May 5. The Cinco de Mayo bash will be the
ultra-dive bar’s final night of hard partying until its reopening at a new venue
on the Strip later this year.
The
wildly popular party bar is moving to make way for The Linq, set to open in
2013 on the site in part occupied by the Rockhouse, across the street from
Caesars Palace. Since opening in 2006, Rockhouse has become one of Sin City’s
top party destinations. In March 2012, the Strip-side bar and nightclub set an
all-time record for itself with more than $1 million in sales for the month.
“There
isn’t anything like Rockhouse in Las Vegas,” says owner Jonathan Fine. “We love
being the spot you can walk into wearing flip-flops, day or night, and have the
time of your life. We will bring Rockhouse back to a new spot on the Strip very
soon.”
With
a closing party planned for Cinco de Mayo, Rockhouse plans to go full-throttle
with a drink countdown from 10 p.m. until close. Starting at 10 p.m., drinks
will be priced for $6 then drop down $1 after each hour until 4 a.m. when all
drinks will be on the house until doors close for the last time.
Day
or night, it’s always the right time to party at Rockhouse. Whether partygoers
are checking out the scene on the rowdy Strip-side patio or dancing on the bar
with an 80-ounce guitar, they always enjoy the ultimate nightlife experience.
Las Vegas’ only ultra-dive bar is one of the city’s top nightclubs, minus the
“VIP” attitude. Rockhouse features the best DJs in Las Vegas blending upbeat
rock, hip-hop and dance. With beautiful bartenders pouring drinks from the bar
tops, playing in the giant bird cage and dangling from tire swings suspended
from the ceiling, Rockhouse is the spot where the party never stops.
Rockhouse
is located on Las Vegas Blvd. in front of Imperial Palace, directly across from
Caesars Palace in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip. The daiquiri and main bar open daily at 10
a.m. and the adjacent nightclub is open from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. For more
