As the
salvor-in-possession of all RMS Titanic artifacts, Premier Exhibitions is the
authentic source to view recovered artifacts, experience what life was like in
1912, learn about the history as well as the personal stories of passengers who
boarded the Ship of Dreams 100 years ago. As the world looks back on the launch
and eventual sinking of RMS Titanic, Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition at Luxor,
Las Vegas, will remember her passengers with a candlelit vigil Tuesday, April
10 – the day Titanic set sail. The candlelit vigil will be held
on the Atrium Level of Luxor at 11 a.m.
One
hundred and eight-five students from Griffith Elementary School will experience
The Exhibition before learning about The Ship’s journey from special guest
speakers and gathering together to light candles in memory of all the
passengers who suffered or were lost that fateful night. Alex Klingelhofer,
Vice President of Collections for Premier Exhibitions and RMS Titanic, Inc.,
will pass down the story to a new generation by sharing her knowledge of the
artifacts that have been brought to the surface and are now on display in Las
Vegas, Orlando, San Diego, Kansas City, Houston and Singapore. Representing
today’s youth, one of the attending students will read an essay on why the
story of Titanic still resonates with people around the world today. Finally,
bringing the story to life, Tom Goldsmith, descendant of Titanic survivor Frank
John William Goldsmith, will share the story of his grandfather who was 9 years
old when he boarded the Ship.
