The
Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas welcomed Cage the Elephant to the Boulevard Pool on
Thursday, April 26
When
Cage the Elephant released their self-titled debut in 2009, they were heralded
as saviors of slacker funk-punk thanks to their hit "Ain't No Rest for the
Wicked." The title turned out to be more
prescient
than they'd bargained for and caused the band to battle adversity of many
stripes. However, it never pushed singer
Matt Shultz, guitarist Brad Shultz, bassist Daniel Tichenor, guitarist
Lincoln
Parish, and drummer Jared Champion off track — it only strengthened the group's
bond and fueled the revved-up roar of its new album, Thank You Happy Birthday,
released January 11, 2011.
The
Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas features artists at the forefront of the touring
world and emerging artists that will inspire the next musical movements coupled
with spectacularly-designed, technology-driven
venues.
The excitement of live-music and sports action spills onto the casino floor
from Book & Stage, an upscale sports and entertainment lounge, while live
DJs fill the rhythmic and vibrant hot-spot Bond
with
the best in house-music. Finally, The Chandelier, a dramatic inhabitable
three-story architectural wonder, created by 2 million luminous crystals, that
houses three unique bar experiences:
high-energy
hot spot, sophisticated cocktail retreat and inviting lounge.
