After inspiring and wowing
audiences at The Joint during the show’s two-year residency, Supernatural
Santana: A Trip Through the Hits returns for three nights only. As the first
rock ‘n’ roll resident show in Las Vegas , Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through the Hits
features a fluid set list
including classics “Oye Como Va,” “Black Magic Woman,” “Evil Ways ,” and “Maria Maria.” A favorite among fans and
critics alike, each show explores a unique angle on the band’s repertoire to
create an unparalleled experience for the audience. The Los Angeles Times said
that Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through the
Hits “proves what an unusual
rock icon [Carlos Santana] is” and highlighted the “deeply energetic”
performances of his long-time band members, who routinely have audience members
dancing in the aisles.
Supernatural Santana: A Trip
Through the Hits was inspired by the band’s 1999 release, Supernatural, that
was destined to be the biggest of their career.
Supernatural, a long-overdue reunion between producers Carlos Santana
and Clive Davis, brought fresh collaborations with Cee-Lo, Eagle-Eye Cherry,
Eric Clapton, Everlast, Lauryn Hill,
Mexican supergroup ManĂ¡, Dave
Matthews and bandmate Carter Beauford, producers the Dust Brothers, KC Porter,
Wyclef Jean and others. The album
includes two RIAA platinum No. 1 hits – “Smooth” featuring Rob Thomas of
Matchbox Twenty and “Maria Maria,” produced by Wyclef Jean – the first Hot 100
No. 1 hits of Santana’s career. The
singles spent a cumulative half-year at No. 1 and paved the way for the album
to amass chart honors and generate Grammy Awards® beyond anyone’s expectations.
