Celebrities and nightlife
influencers collided under the gold chandelier high above XS nightclub’s dance
floor to celebrate the birthday of co-owner and managing partner, Jesse Waits.
Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz was first to be spotted on stage with his brother and
friends, including Tal Cooperman, business partner with Good Charlotte’s Joel
and Benji Madden, as well as boyfriend of Holly’s World reality star Angel
Porrino. Porrino wasn’t far away, dancing on stage and partying into the early
hours of the morning with best friends and PEEPSHOW stars Holly Madison and
Josh Strickland, as well as former MTV reality star Frankie Delgado. In a
separate group, NFL stars Shaun Phillips (San Diego Chargers) and Shawne
Merriman (Buffalo Bills) joined in on the party next to UFC champ Chuck Liddell.
The packed crowd was
completely shocked when superstar DJ Avicii stepped out to give a special set
in honor of the nightlife impresario’s birthday celebration. The Swedish talent
did not disappoint, playing late into the evening in front of the impressive production
set, including confetti cannons and a giant LED screen flashing photos and
happy wishes to Jesse throughout the evening. Resident DJs Manufactured
Superstars (Shawn Sabo and Brad Roulier) along with DJ Spider were also on
stage throughout the evening to hype the crowd.
The birthday boy entered his
venue with the grand staircase flanked by cocktail servers, donning specialty
uniforms in honor of Jesse’s signature style. Once he was led on stage, he was
presented with a three-tier decadent cake, the top level featuring his
signature look, a black on white suit, and the second and third tiers paying
homage to his constant work ethic with a mock-up of his Blackberry and iPhone.
The venues’ executive team including Ronn Nicolli (director of strategic
marketing), Yannick Mugnier (general manager), Brian Affronti (general manager)
and Zee Zandi (director of nightlife entertainment) presented the cake on
behalf of the staff before Jesse blew the candles out on stage. Servers,
dancers and VIP hosts stood by cheering and singing “Happy Birthday”
in unison.
Surrounding the group was a
who’s who of Vegas nightlife including Pasquale Rotella (founder of Insomniac
and Electric Daisy Carnival), Mustafa “Moose” Abdi (Haze Nightclub), Jason
“JRoc” Craig (SBE), Randy Davila (AMG), Wayne Crane (Surrender), Lance Sherman (Chateau), among many more.
It’s been a big year for
Jesse and his XS and Tryst teams as he has led them to achieving Nightclub
& Bar’s Nightclub of the Year (Tryst) and earning the #1 spot on Nightclub
& Bar’s Top 100 list (XS) for the second year in a row. His management
direction has helped the venues maintain what they are best known for,
providing exceptional service and seamless operations, while remaining on the
pulse of the nightlife scene, discovering the best talent and DJs to entertain
the crowds that pack the clubs each night.
