October is National Pizza month! Celebrate at Sammy's Woodfired Pizza..across the country!


 Did you know that October is National Pizza month? Sammy’s prides itself on delivering you fresh flavors and unique combinations of the delicious, savory pie! In honor of our favorite food we thought we’d share one of our famous recipes with you! The Organic Arugula & Pear pizza exemplifies California-style pie-making with it’s unique combination of gourmet flavors and texture.

Ingredients:
    8 oz pizza dough
    1 Tbs olive oil
    4 oz grated mozzarella
    1 poached pear
    3 thin slices of prosciutto
    2 oz crumbled gorgonzola
    1 ½ - 2 cups organic arugula
    1 - 2 Tbs balsamic vinaigrette

Directions:
    Pre-heat oven to 450 - 500 degrees
    Roll out or stretch pizza dough to 11 – 12” diameter
    Brush pizza dough with olive oil
    Spread mozzarella cheese to within 1” of pizza dough edge
    Top with prosciutto slices
    Cut pear into 6 equally thin wedges and place on top of prosciutto  in a pinwheel shape
    Top all with gorgonzola cheese
    Bake for 10 min or until crust is dark golden brown
    Remove from oven and cut into 6 equal slices
    Combine arugula and vinaigrette, place in center of pizza
    Serve immediately

Serves 2-3.
