IndyCar, NASCAR Trucks to
return to LVMS in 2012; Special ticket offer available through Dec. 31
For the second consecutive
year, the IZOD IndyCar Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will share
an October weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 2012.
Next year’s event weekend
will be Oct. 12-14 and will feature a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on
Saturday, Oct. 13 and the season finale for the IZOD IndyCar Series on Sunday,
Oct. 14.
We haven’t even thrown the
green flag on this weekend’s races, and we’re already excited about having
these two series share the same weekend next year,” said LVMS President Chris
Powell. “The trucks have always put on great races here and the support from
fans and local businesses for the return of the IndyCar Series has been very
strong. We’re looking forward to this weekend and having both of these series
back in 2012.”
The speedway is offering a
deep early-bird discount for early ticket buyers. Race fans can purchase two
weekend tickets and two weekend Neon Garage passes for just $59 if they
purchase before Dec. 31. The same offer is available in the reserved seating
area for $99.
“This may be the best bargain
in motorsports,” Powell said. “Two people can see both races, qualifying and
get Neon Garage access for less than it costs for most people to fill their gas
tanks. That’s hard to beat.”
The truck series will make
its 16th visit to the 1.5-mile superspeedway in 2012, while it will be the
seventh visit by the country’s premier open-wheel racing division.
