Canyon Ranch SpaClub at The
Venetian | at The Palazzo and three-time world dance champion and Emmy®-nominated
choreographer Louis Van Amstel will host a LaBlast Retreat, August 25-28, 2011.
LaBlast is a partner-free
dance fitness program developed by Van Amstel, widely known as a professional
dancer on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” and as a choreographer on FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance.” In Las Vegas, LaBlast will be offered at Canyon Ranch SpaClub.
LaBlast is a high-energy
workout designed to get guests dancing. The program is a series of uniquely
choreographed dance routines that disguise a challenging fitness routine that
works the entire body. The choreography includes a merengue with light weights
for additional muscle toning.
LaBlast is offered in five
levels of increasing difficulty and cardio intensity for everyone from the
absolute beginner to the already experienced dancer. Classes are a one-hour
cardio dance fitness workout including Cha Cha Cha, Disco, Jive, Lindy Hop,
Merengue, Paso Doble, Quick Step, Salsa and Samba. Music is a key component to
the classes, using a wide variety of genres ranging from pop, rock, hip-hop,
country and disco creating an energetic party-like atmosphere.
The Thursday through Sunday
LaBlast Retreat, conducted by Van Amstel himself, is available in packages for
guests with or without hotel accommodations. Guests will select from one of two
fitness levels – beginner/intermediate or intermediate/advanced. A la Carte
classes are not available for this retreat. Package details are as follows:
