Public Invited To Help Celebrate Mayor Oscar B. Goodman And Mayor Pro Tem Gary Reese As They Prepare To Leave Office

Free Party at Fremont Street Experience to Include Performance by Louis Prima Jr.

Everyone is invited to join the “happiest mayor in the universe,” Mayor Oscar B. Goodman, and Mayor Pro Tem Gary Reese as they prepare to leave office the only way they know how -- with a huge public celebration at Fremont Street Experience!

The free celebration is open to the public beginning at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, at the 1st Street Stage. The party will include music from Louis Prima Jr., a toast by the mayor and mayor pro tem and a special show on the world famous Fremont Street Experience Viva Vision canopy at 8:58 p.m.

“I’m personally inviting Las Vegas to join me and the mayor pro tem as we celebrate this great city that has been so good to us during our time in office and our lives here in fabulous Las Vegas,” Mayor Oscar B. Goodman said.

Mayor Goodman has represented the city of Las Vegas since 1999, serving three terms as mayor. In that time he has become synonymous with the fun and excitement of Las Vegas as he travels the world with showgirls on his arms.

Mayor Pro Tem Reese has been a city councilman since 1995 and has served four terms representing the people of the city and Ward 3.

Both Mayor Goodman and Mayor Pro Tem Reese were prohibited from seeking reelection due to term limits. Their last day at City Hall will be July 6, when they swear the new elected officials into office.

The Downtown Cocktail Room will also keep the party going with an after party.  Those who say they are there for the Mayor’s After Party will get special discount drinks.  The Downtown Cocktail Room is located at 111 Las Vegas Blvd. South.  In addition to the performance by Prima Jr., the party will continue with music at the 3rd Street Stage at 9:10 p.m. with “The Nancy Rayguns,” and the Main Street Stage with “The Reflex.”
