The Venetian and The Palazzo Throw a Block Party to Kick Off Las Vegas Sands’ New Alliance with InterContinental Hotels Group
Yesterday, The Venetian and The Palazzo kicked off Las Vegas Sands’ new alliance with IHG with a unique and fun block party by the outdoor gondolas.
Under a beautiful blue sky, guests enjoyed BLT sliders, franks in puff pastry and chicken satay while enjoying music by Azure Luxury Pool’s DJ Twisted. Streetmosphere performers juggled while gondoliers posed for photos, adding to the merriment of the day.
Michael Leven, president and chief operating officer of Las Vegas Sands Corp., addressed the crowd and acknowledged the hard work that made this partnership possible before handing the microphone over to IHG executives Christian Hempell, vice president of New Business Delivery, the Americas , and Del Ross, vice president of US sales and marketing. Ross remarked that now members of IHG’s Priority Club Rewards program can redeem the points they earn at IHG’s more than 4,400 hotels around the globe to redeem for stays at The Venetian and The Palazzo. Members can now also earn points for stays at the two resorts.
As cannons shot confetti and streamers into the air, Leven, Hempell and Ross cut a cake decorated with images of The Venetian and The Palazzo and other iconic InterContinental Hotels to officially launch the alliance between the two global hospitality leaders. Cake was passed out to guests as they turned to the marquee to watch a clip of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” featuring The Venetian and The Palazzo, which aired today. The hilarious talk show host served as celebrity concierge for a group of lucky bachelorettes and gave them the VIP treatment with an upgraded suite, fun and games at Azure Luxury Pool, dancing at TAO Nightclub and a relaxing gondola ride.
To top off the fun afternoon, one lucky attendee won a grand prize giveaway with $500 American Express gift card, 2-night stay at InterContinental Los Angeles Century City , lunch at Spago Beverly Hills, dinner at Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill at L.A. Live and two tickets to “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
