A newly restyled “Oprah Winfrey” was today unveiled at Madame Tussauds and inducted into the attraction’s Spirit of America room. The induction is a nod to the great achievements that Oprah Winfrey has made during her illustrious career within the fields of television, entertainment and philanthropy - joining other iconic American figures such as John F. Kennedy, Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Martin Luther King, Jr., John Wayne, Marilyn Monroe and President Barack Obama.
Oprah Winfrey is a supporter of the Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring programs, and Molly Latham, Vice President of Program Services with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Nevada, was in attendance to help unveil the figure. In support, Madame Tussauds has agreed to donate $1 from each ticket sold to local Nevadans through the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Nevada organization, via a special redemption discount flyer or mention of the promotion at the box office, from May 23rd - June 1st.
“We are honoring Oprah for her show’s 25 years of success and the extensive charitable contributions she’s made over the years,” said Madame Tussauds General Manager, Rosita Chapman. “She is a role model to all and an extraordinary inspiration.”
Following the unveiling on Tuesday, Madame Tussauds invited attraction guests to view Oprah’s final show, live from the Spirit of America room on Wednesday, May 25th.
Over 100 world-famous figures are featured at the attraction at one time, in various themed areas. Among its recent debut figures in Las Vegas were Gwen Stefani and Eva Longoria.
