Have you eaten at BESO?? You really should! Great food, wonderful atmosphere!

Beso means Kiss in Spanish! Having diner here especially for a date, anniversary or any special event should earn you tons of kisses! Beso is located in the ultra trendy shopping mall Crystals at City Center. It is very accessible, just valet park and up the escalator and there it is! This beautiful restaurant is due to owner's Eva Longoria's passion for cooking.

The ambiance is deliriously decadent with beautiful dark wood accents throughout the restaurant. One whole side is entirely glass so you can also people watch. With their delicious food they also have a very professional friendly staff. When I asked questions regarding the wine list our server was knowledgeable and had great recommendations! However we did not order the $30,000 bottle of champagne! But their wine list is one of the bests that I have seen in Las Vegas. Something for everyone and great pricing on different wines, entirely up to you and your credit card.

Now for the important part…the food!! We started off with the world famous Eva’s Avocado Guacamole! Fresh fresh fresh and with the right amount of lime!  The chips were light and crunchy and not heavy at all, so you can really enjoy this great taste of Eva’s guacamole! A huge portion and more than enough for four people!

Along with the guacamole we also sampled one of my favorite items off of the menu, the Beet and Goat cheese salad with red and golden beets and goat cheese fondue and arugula with candied walnuts. As you might know arugula can sometimes be a little bitter, but this combination was simply sublime! The beets were not overcooked but cooked so they were still firm. BUT the goat cheese fondue was a real standout!! Creamy and bursting with flavor…I could have eaten more! If you enjoy this type of salad there is no question…order it!

Also joining our appetizer sampling was the crispy fried Dungeness crab cakes. We have all had at one time or a so so crab cake. NOT here! The cakes are served with a light avocado puree which brings out the moistness and delicate flavor of the crab. Crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside! The perfect crab cake..and FRESH!

On to the main course!! Here is where it gets a little tricky because everything that was brought to the table, the chili rubbed skirt steak, the 22 oz bone in rib eye and seared tuna adobo with jumbo lump crab, grilled tomato grits, with the tequila cream sauce were all outstanding!

You could cut the chili rubbed skirt steak with a butter knife it was that tender! Laid out in great portions, this makes this dish easy enough for you to share with your dining companion. The combination of flavors in this meat was fabulous! Yet the chili did not overshadow the meat. Another high recommendation for you to order. This steak rates 6 steak knifes up!

Now for the KING – the 22 oz Bone in rib eye! Indeed a steak fit for a king. The steaks are aged for 24 days and it is corn fed beef. Even though it was a huge steak once again so tender that you could use a butter knife to cut it with. I for one have never ever enjoyed a steak that you have to saw away at. Not a problem with the steaks at BESO. It was cooked to perfection, medium rare. Tender and tasty another great item to order.

Our two side orders were macaroni and cheese and creamy spinach! The Mac and cheese was hot and steaming and bursting with the flavors of quality cheese. However hands down the creamy spinach is another must order item. Fresh spinach that was not overcooked with a delicate cream sauce made this dish very memorable.

For dessert CHURROS! Delicate and light they are dusted with cinnamon and are served with caramel sauce and Chantilly Cream. Finding a wonderful light Churro is almost like hitting the jackpot and these qualify as one of the finest I have ever tasted!

You know that you are in a real steakhouse when they have serious steak knives. The knives at Beso are large and made for serious steak eaters. Beso has several added elements that add to a great dining experience. Ambiance, wonderful fresh cooked bread with real butter, a great staff and wonderful drinks and the steak knives!

If you are in Las Vegas on vacation or you live here this is a restaurant that should be on your “to eat at” list! All in all a five steak knife experience!
