Celebrate Chinese New Year’s at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas!
Chinese New Year is the longest and most important festivity in the Chinese Lunar Calendar. This year, celebrate the “Year of the Rabbit” by attending a special Chinese New Year’s Exhibit at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas, from January 28 through February 22, 2011, featuring the addition of a life-size Jackie Chan wax figure.
Find out which celebrities at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas were born in the “Year of the Rabbit.” And get up close and personal with Jackie Chan’s wax double, complete with Karate chopping block!
Chan was born in Hong Kong and is one of the most well known stars working in films today. He began his international movie career as an actor and director in the early 1970s and worked as a stunt coordinator for the legendary Bruce Lee prior to becoming a worldwide star and appearing in more than 100 films. Chan’s figure will be at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas for this special exhibit only.
The Chinese zodiac follows a twelve year cycle, each of the years being named after an animal. The Chinese believe that the animal ruling one’s birth year has a profound influence on personality and destiny. According to the Chinese zodiac, 2011 is the Year of the Golden Rabbit, the fourth sign of the zodiac. The Rabbit is known to be a lucky sign.
Regular General Admission for Madame Tussauds Las Vegas is $25 per adult ticket. But, locals who were born in the year of the Rabbit (such as: 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999) are the lucky ones who will get Free admission into the attraction when they show their Nevada ID at the Madame Tussauds Las Vegas Box Office on February 3 from 10am to 9pm only.
More than 100 world-famous figures, each costing an average of $300,000 to create, are featured at the unique wax attraction at any one time, in various themed areas. To keep the offerings “fresh,” the attraction’s designers regularly spotlight new and exciting exhibits. Madame Tussauds Las Vegas’ recent debut figures include Chuck Liddell, Lady Gaga, Gwen Stefani, Eva Longoria and President Barack Obama and the “Oval Office Experience.”
