Khotan – The Restaurant
During the tasting party that I attended it was a hard decision to choose a favorite! It was a toss up between the lobster curry which was flavorful and had a wonderful coconut taste which along with the hotness of the curry and the tenderness of the lobster – DIVINE! Or the
Coming in second would be the Khotan Pay Roll: A-5 Kobe beef wrapped around a sushi roll filled with tempura fried king crab and avocado. Topped with a poached quail egg and a drizzle of truffle oil, this regal roll sits in a bed of green goddess dressing. Something that could make or break a dining experience would be the helpfulness and the general overall happiness of the crew. Khotan has assembled a delightful and helpful crew that made the experience that much more, well fun! Everyone was extremely friendly and experienced and helpful and offered product knowledge. Be sure and take some time to look over the rare and exceptional collection of jade artifacts assembled which are amazing in their intricacies. Two five foot hand carved jars stand at attention at the entrance and also on display is a 35,000-year old ivory tusk which depicts an Asian village.
What would dinner be without dessert? Oh and there are plenty to choose from here! All delicious and satisfying. The upside down pineapple cake evoked memories of childhood sugar indulges and was moist and the pineapple fresh! Chocoholics rejoice because on the menu is a wonderful simply wicked brownie (moist, chocolate, with chocolate frosting with pecans) that will send you to heaven and back!
All in all a wonderful experience and a restaurant not to overlooked when you choose your dining destination! The hours are from
