Sunday Night Live
Sunday, June 21, 2009
Wind down your weekend at Mist every Sunday night with live performances. This week features a performance by local indie electronica act Brother Luke. Brother Luke is a modern-day minstrel out to uncover life's simple pleasures, capture and release them with lyric, hook and loop. Brother Luke coaxes a techno marvel of futuristic sounds from his keyboard and seamlessly weaves them into captivating rhythms-several of them remixed cuts from his debut and sophomore CD's-bathing his audience with a wash of unexpected melodic landscapes or bombarding them with thunderous trance-groove frenzy. Colorful, quirky and eclectic video projections enhance his performance. At the heart of this show is a man and his music, and every high-tech bell and whistle Luke triggers is manipulated with the most human of touches.
