Loretta Lynn is The Coal Miner’s Daughter – from her life experience to best-selling album and hit single, to the title of her autobiography and on to the Oscar-winning film. This country music legend has been striking a cord with fans everywhere since the early ’60s. It was in 1967 that she released her first number one single “Don’t Come Home a Drinkin’ (With Lovin’ on Your Mind), and again in 1968 with “The Fist.” Since then, Lynn has continued to release number one and top ten hit singles and albums. She also received a Grammy award in 1971 for the song “After the Fire is Gone” which she sang with Conway Twitty, among which the duo released several other hit songs. Lynn has steadily released chart topping albums with the most recent being Van Lear Rose in 2004, that also won her two more Grammy awards. She is currently working on a follow-up album to her 2004 release as well as re-recorded version of her greatest hits. Both albums are due out later this year.
