Saturday night, resident artist Trey Songz celebrated his birthday by serving up a full-concert performance at the dazzling Drai’s Nightclub at The Cromwell in Las Vegas as part of the Drai’s LIVE series. The singer was welcomed to the stage with resounding cheers, which continued late into the night as he performed a range of popular hits such as “Foreign,” “Can’t Help But Wait,” “Bottoms Up” and more. Toward the end of his hour-long set, Trey was greeted onstage by the Drai’s dancers and presented with a custom three-tiered birthday cake, at which point the packed crowd erupted into a rendition of “Happy Birthday.” Following the performance, Trey and his party continued the celebration at their VIP booth while enjoying Hennessey and Grey Goose.

Enjoy Fresh & Delicious Authentic New England Cooking At Luke's Lobster! Now In Vegas!

We are in the middle of the desert here in  Las Vegas and yes you can find seafood at different restaurants. However Luke's Lobster is different and exceptional. Why? On the black board every day you will know exactly where your lobster and crab came from within the past 24 hours. When we visited the the crab was from Gloucester Massachusetts...yes that Gloucester (A Perfect Storm) and the lobster was Maine lobster.  What also was fascinating is the fact that Co-Owner Luke Holden who resides in Maine is also a fisherman. A fisherman that when you sit down and talk to him he knows all about how to catch a lobster, mark a lobster and how to make sure that the fishing waters stay sustainable. There are some federal mandates governing the fishing of lobsters and crab and seafood but Luke and fishermen like him are very conscious of how important it is to protect the lobsters that we all enjoy. He and his company participates in a mandatory v-notch program,  which requires them to notch all egg-bearing lobster prior to liberation. The practice of notching a known “breeder” extends her protection beyond the hatching of her eggs. If a female "notched" lobster is found in your possession yes it is illegal.

So when you visit Luke's Lobster you can enjoy your meal knowing that:
1. You are eating REAL Maine lobster (not an impostor from Canada)
2. You are eating sustainable seafood caught ethically and with the highest standards
3. FRESH

Recently opened at the Fashion Show Mall this is the first location west of the Mississippi. Known for their simple menu and high quality food Luke's Lobster offers the BEST clam chowder that I have had the opportunity to taste. And this would include "clam chowdah" from restaurants in Boston. This chowder was fresh, creamy and delicious and worth the trip to the Fashion Show Mall for those of us that live in the Las Vegas suburbs.

A Taste of Maine

So seafood lovers rejoice! The crab was spectacular, soft and tender. The lobster so tasty you will be tempted to order seconds!  Each roll is simple -- a toasted, buttered, split-top bun with a swipe of mayo, topped with 4 ounces of pure lobster/crab/shrimp (not a salad) and secret spices. Simple and delicious.

I really enjoy trying new items and was introduced to Maine Root sodas. A refreshing alternative to diet coke for sure! This soda is from a family-run soda company in Maine. They use Fair Trade, certified organic evaporated cane juice, so there's no artificial sweeteners -- it's better for you, the environment and the farmers. Available for you to taste is their root beer, blueberry, lemon lime, mexicane cola, lemonade, mandarin orange (in select locations) and ginger brew flavors.
The Blueberry soda was awesome!

When you drop on by, remember the dining is Al Fresco so dress warm in the winter months. There is an area for seating but you can also savor your tasty seafood and soak up the atmosphere of the Las Vegas Strip at the same time.

Historic Milestone! Gold Mine Tavern Turns 50! Join The Party

The Gold Mine Tavern will celebrate a historic milestone that few bars in Southern Nevada have achieved. Saturday, November 21st, The Gold Mine Tavern, located on historic Water Street in downtown Henderson, will celebrate 50 years with a party commemorating the occasion and will raise money for a Henderson-based charity.

Take a trip back in time as the Gold Mine Tavern, recently named one of “7 Most Historic Bars in the Vegas Valley” by the Las Vegas Review Journal, honors its legacy as Henderson’s oldest bar with 1960’s inspired cocktail specials, PBR beer specials (sponsored by PBR), food truck deliciousness, samplings from Henderson based breweries, Crafthaus and Joseph James, live music from Coin Slot and Forget to Remember (voted Vegas’s BEST Rock Cover Band), Apple Watch giveaway and more.

The party will also feature a raffle where guests will have a chance to win fun beer packages from both Henderson based Crafthaus Brewery and Joseph James Brewing Co., your very own shot machine or mini-fridge from Fireball, Gold Mine Tavern gift certificates and more…with proceeds of the raffle benefiting The Dr. Joel and Carol Bower School Based Health Center.

In 1965 owner and Henderson City Councilman Giles "Bud" Franklin's vision came to life with the opening of the Gold Mine Tavern. The bar served as one of downtown Henderson's long standing favorite hangouts with a reputation for affordable drinks and friendly service. Franklin, remained a fixture at the bar until he sold it in 1977. Following Franklin's departure as owner, the bar underwent several identity changes, with it primarily catering to those in the biker community.

As the years went by the Gold Mine Tavern's became an endearing icon of downtown Henderson one of the long standing staples of the bar is its original 80-foot long wooden bar. In 2006 current owner Tim Haughinberry purchased the Gold Mine Tavern with the vision of bringing a bit of the Fremont Street approachability and live music and event driven performances to Water Street. In recent years Haughinberry, completed several renovations to the Gold Mine Tavern including expanding the patio area and modernizing the interior spaces with a warm red and black color palette. The results of Haughinberry's rebranding efforts combined with the added programming of live local music performances and themed events have resulted in success, with the Gold Mine Tavern now appealing to a more diverse array of clientele including 20-30-year-olds in addition to the biker community and baby boomers.

The Dr. Joel and Carol Bower School Based Health Center is the first school-based health center in the State of Nevada to achieve certification. Established in 2004, the health center was founded as a partnership between the Nevada State College School of Nursing and Basic High School to address significant unmet health needs of Henderson children. Operated by the NSC School of Nursing and located on the Basic High School Campus, the health center serves Henderson school children ages 4- 19.

It's Vegas & Frank Sinatra's B-Day Is Coming Up! Celebrate At The Golden Steer

Beginning Dec. 1, The Golden Steer Steakhouse, Las Vegas' iconic and longest-running steakhouse, will offer a special menu dedicated to Frank Sinatra, who would have turned 100 on Dec. 12. The carefully selected 3-course menu was created based on what Sinatra ordered when he regularly dined at the restaurant in the '60s while performing with the Rat Pack. "Frank's Menu" will be available until Dec. 31, 2015.

Priced at $100* per person, guests who experience "Frank's Menu" will dine in his actual booth (table 22) which seats up to four guests. His menu will include:

Clams Casino: from Narragansett Bay, this dish is prepared with clams on the half shell, baked with white wine, bacon, diced red and yellow peppers and bread crumbs.

New York Strip Steak, 16 oz.: served with sautéed diced tomatoes, garlic and white wine and medium rare, just like he ordered it.

Bananas Foster: the house specialty, The Golden Steer is one of the few restaurants in Las Vegas able to stylishly serve this dessert tableside as a flambé.

Jack Daniels: the drink will be prepared just as he drank it - with three fingers of Jack and two ice cubes.

Italian red wine.

One classic Zippo lighter, engraved with The Golden Steer logo and the date of Sinatra's 100th birthday.

One ticket for admission to The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, where guests can learn more about Sinatra's history with the mafia including FBI photos regarding the kidnapping of Sinatra's only son, Frank, Jr. (see below for more information) and his ties to Chicago Outfit boss Sam Giancana and the Cal-Neva lodge.

For guests wishing to dine on Sinatra's actual birthday, Saturday, Dec. 12, in addition to Frank's Menu and being seated in his booth, each guest will receive:

One roll of dimes: on Dec. 8, 1963, Sinatra's only son, Frank, Jr., was kidnapped at Harrah’s Club Lodge in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. He was 19-years-old at the time and preparing for his own performance that night. The kidnappers demanded Sinatra call from untraceable pay phones. Following the return of his son, Sinatra began a lifelong habit of carrying a roll of dimes (the cost of a pay phone call at the time) "just in case of emergency." He was reportedly buried with a roll of dimes, as well as a bottle of Jack Daniels and a pack of Camel cigarettes.

On that night only, there will be a live performance of Sinatra classics.

The price for "Frank's Menu" scheduled on his birthday will be a minimum of $1,000 per reservation for the four-top. Only three times are available that evening for reservations: 4:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

"This our way of authentically pay homage to the Chairman of the Board as only we can," says Dr. Michael Signorelli, owner, The Golden Steer Steakhouse. "Very few places in town remain where Sinatra actually dined. He was even known for walking around the restaurant and serenading fellow guests while they ate and drank. We have all served and interacted with Sinatra over the years and it's an honor to create this once-in-a-lifetime experience his fans will cherish."

Sinatra became a regular guest at The Golden Steer in the '60s while he was performing with the Rat Pack (Peter Lawson, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr. and Joey Bishop). It was Sammy Davis, Jr. who first brought Sinatra to the restaurant. In the '60s, African-Americans could not dine in the hotels and this applied to Davis, even though he was a performer. The Golden Steer welcomed Davis who would stop to eat at the restaurant which was, at the time, located between the Moulin Rouge, Las Vegas' first desegregated hotel and casino, and the Sands Hotel and Casino, where the Rat Pack performed. The Golden Steer honors its repeat and loyal guests by dedicating booths. Thanks to Sinatra's patronage, the restaurant's celebrity guest list would expand to begin including regulars such as Marilyn Monroe, Joe DiMaggio and John Wayne. The restaurant dedicated booth number 20 to Davis, booth number 21 to Martin and booth number 22 to Sinatra, where all three tables remain next to one another to this day.

Founded in 1958, The Golden Steer Steakhouse is the city's most iconic and longest-running steakhouse. The world-renowned restaurant is known for its impeccable service, classic dishes and vintage Victorian ambience. The Golden Steer transports guests back in time to "Old Las Vegas" when waiters wore tuxedos, guests slowly sipped martinis and dined on decadent steaks. The Golden Steer Steakhouse prides itself on serving "The Best Steaks on Earth" that are USDA Prime Aged, corn-fed beef, as well as seafood and Italian specialties. This is also one of the only restaurants in Las Vegas to serve Bananas Foster tableside as a flambé. Though many changes have taken place over the years, one of the core elements is longevity of staff and their level of experience, with some staff members boasting more than 40 years of service. The Golden Steer Steakhouse is open nightly from 4:30 to 11 p.m. and located at 308 W. Sahara Ave. For more information, go to www.GoldenSteerSteakhouseLasVegas.com and like on Facebook - www.facebook.com/Golden-Steer-Steakhouse-Las-Vegas-115736655114067/?fref=ts .
