See The Solar Eclipse While Floating On The Colorado River

Colorado River rafting outfitter, Black Canyon River Adventures, offers guests an extraordinary vantage point for observing the solar eclipse taking place on Monday, Aug. 21. The eclipse will be at its peak when the Boulder City, Nevada-based tour company launches its 12-mile, smooth-water rafting trip near the base of Hoover Dam at approximately 10:30 a.m. Guests will be able to track the progress of the eclipse for another hour and 20 minutes while their guide pilots the motor-assisted raft down the river.

Black Canyon River Adventures’ rafting excursions take approximately 4.5 hours, launching from just downriver of Hoover Dam, beneath the Pat Tillman – Michael O’Callaghan Memorial Bridge.  Guests will learn about the history, desert wildlife and beauty in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River from their guide. The tour meets at the Lake Mead RV Village in Boulder City; out-of-town guests may arrange for round-trip transportation from their hotel. This special version of Black Canyon River Adventures’ tour will include eclipse-viewing eyewear, as well as a boxed lunch and bottled water for a picnic stop on a sandy beach along the way.

The Aug. 21 tour departs at 10 a.m. Guests are asked to check in by 9:30 a.m. at the Lake Mead RV Village, located at 268 Lakeshore Road, Boulder City, NV 89005. The public is invited to a four-day celebration marking the official grand opening of Magical Memories Featuring Disney Fine Art at The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace August 10 -13.  More than a traditional gallery, Magical Memories is an interactive experience of images and sounds. For its multi-day grand opening, the flagship visual art venue presents a public celebration featuring a salute to the 25th anniversary of the original animated film Beauty and the Beast.

Fans of all ages are invited to meet original voice cast members including Paige O’Hara (voice of Belle), Robby Benson (voice of the Beast), Richard White (voice of Gaston), director Gary Trousdale, background artist James Coleman, and Mark Henn, animator of Belle, who will be appearing throughout the weekend at multiple events.

The celebration begins Thursday, Aug. 10 with a free animation class from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m., followed by a Grand Opening party with the cast and crew from Beauty and the Beast from 6 – 8 p.m., benefiting Make A Wish and including a wish reveal. On Friday, August 10, learn to draw with Disney Fine Artists from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. In the evening, from 6 – 8 p.m., another opening party with the Beauty and the Beast cast and crew benefiting Candlelighters will be held.

Additional grand opening events include; artist meet and greets, opportunities to see artists Dave Bossert, James Coleman, Tennessee Loveless, James C. Mulligan, Tim Rogerson, John Ramirez, Michelle St. Laurent and Paige O’Hara at work creating art in the gallery, a Q & A with the creative team of Beauty and the Beast, book and art signings, raffles to win a piece of Disney Fine Art, ribbon and cake cutting ceremony and plenty of photo opportunities.

Hopped, sweet and unique – those are the types of tacos on the menu at “Hopped Taco Throwdown,” a heated competition and all-inclusive craft beer experience. Chefs will vie for their innovative creations to be crowned the top tacos in three categories from 8 – 11 p.m. on Saturday, August 12.

Motley Brews, the creators of Great Vegas Beer Festival, have gathered some of the city’s most innovative chefs to step out of their culinary comfort zones to create tasty and inventive tacos. Tacos will be judged in three categories, including: Hopped Taco, for best-beer-infused taco; Taco Loco, for most creative taco; and Taco Dulce, for best dessert taco.

Rockers A Day To Remember Put The Pedal To The Metal At SpeedVegas

Before their sold-out show at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas on Wednesday, Aug. 2, members of the popular band A Day To Remember took two of the fastest cars in the world for an exhilarating drive around the 1.5-mile Formula One-inspired track at SPEEDVEGAS.

As they walked toward the lineup of supercars and muscle cars in SPEEDVEGAS’ fleet, band Guitarist Neil Westfall said, “This is gonna be the greatest day of my life!”

Lead guitarist Kevin Skaff drove the Ferrari 458, the most popular Italian racecar known for its sleek body type, extravagantly detailed interior and superior transmission technology. Meanwhile, Lead Singer Jeremy McKinnon, Drummer Alex Shelnutt and Westfall drove the Lamborghini Huracan, known for its top speed and acceleration.

Hakkasan Nightclub Had Travis Scott Performing!

Saturday, Aug. 5 Hakkasan Las Vegas Nightclub inside MGM Grand Hotel & Casino welcomed platinum-recording artist Travis Scott to the renowned nightspot for a special live performance.

Shortly after performing at T-Mobile Arena for The DAMN. Tour, the Houston native arrived at the nighttime hot spot around 2 a.m. with a large entourage of friends. Sporting a dark t-shirt and jeans, the artist was seated at a VIP table behind the DJ booth where he sipped on cocktails and socialized with friends.

He took to the stage soon after his arrival and wowed fans with an encore performance. With hits from his platinum albums, “Rodeo” and “Birds in the Trip Sing McKnight,” fans went wild as they heard their favorite Scott songs live in the intimate nightclub setting.

Scott’s presence brought the energy in the nightclub to unrivaled levels throughout the night as guests danced and partied into the early hours of the morning.

Also spotted at the nightlife mecca for Scott’s performance were NBA Champions, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors.
