New LV Monorail Website Is Much Easier To Navigate For Tourists

The Las Vegas Monorail is already one of the most convenient amenities in Las Vegas and its new website aims to make planning visits to the destination even more hassle-free. Launched this summer, the new site includes not only colorful, easy-to-read graphics, as seen on its new route map, but also a complete Station Guide with helpful travel-planning information.

The LVMonorail.com Station Guide was designed to help visitors map out their itineraries, whether they seek dining, shopping, hotel amenities, convention information, nightlife or other entertainment at each of the 10 resorts—plus the Las Vegas Convention Center—which are all directly served along the Monorail route.

While using the Station Guide enables Monorail passengers to create jam-packed itineraries to make the most of their Las Vegas visit, the website’s blog offers yet more tips and information. On it, you can find everything from where to charge mobile phones at Monorail stations, to how to use the system to get to the MGM Grand Garden Arena, to special hours and offers for attendees of citywide events. There are even blog posts introducing readers to the Monorail’s very own K-9 officer, Rony, and offering tips for catching Pokémon while riding the Monorail.

Other helpful sections include:
Directions to the Monorail – Simple guide for how to navigate to each of the Monorail’s seven stations within its associated properties.
Free Las Vegas Shuttles – For guests staying off the Strip, learn which hotels offer free shuttles to Monorail stations or to drop-off points within a 10-15-minute walk of them.
Environmental Efficiency – For instance, the Monorail is the only transportation option in Las Vegas that operates on zero-emissions trains.
Did You Know? - Fun facts about the Monorail, such as…did you know the Monorail has removed more than 23 million vehicle miles from area roadways—the equivalent of 48 trips to the moon?
…and more.

Of course, the ability to purchase multi-day, unlimited ride Monorail tickets—the best transportation deal in town—is now easier than ever on LVMonorail.com. Prices start at $5 for a single ride, with unlimited-ride passes starting at $12 for one day, with various multi-day options offered up to seven days for $56.

Hours of operation are Mondays, 7 a.m. to midnight; Tuesday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 2 a.m.; Friday through Sunday, 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. For more information on the Las Vegas Monorail or where to purchase tickets, call 866-4-MONORAIL (866-466-6672); visit www.LVMonorail.com or pick up a Monorail Magazine, available at all Monorail stations.

Celebs & Imagine Dragons Come Together To Raise Money For TRF Tix Available

On Friday, Sept. 30, the Grammy Award-winning band, Imagine Dragons will perform at the third annual gala benefiting the Tyler Robinson Foundation (TRF). This extraordinary gala raises funds to support families affected by pediatric cancer.

Chris Harrison, from ABC's "The Bachelor," will serve as the evening’s host. Four honorees will be celebrated for their tireless efforts and work toward fighting pediatric cancer, including:

Criss Angel: His passion for pediatric cancer research has intensified following the diagnosis of his 2-year-old son with leukemia.

Dr. Raphael Rousseau: Leader of development or the Pediatric Oncology Drug Development Team at Genentech, Dr. Rousseau has dedicated his career to focusing on hard-to-treat pediatric cancers.

Gavin, Owen, Quinn and Ethan Morrison: Since learning of TRF in 2014, this family has demonstrated dedication to raising funds and awareness through school and church groups.

Hyundai Hope on Wheels: This organization funds innovative research and creates awareness, funding more than $115 million in pediatric cancer research in the U.S.

Founded in 2013 by Grammy Award-winning band Imagine Dragons and the Robinson family, TRF's mission is to strengthen families financially and emotionally as they cope with the tragedy of a pediatric cancer diagnosis by providing hope, information, and relief through financial services, caring volunteers, and monetary grants. The TRF is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

The Tyler Robinson Foundation honors the life of a remarkable 16-year-old boy who was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer, in August 2011.

As soon as Tyler received the diagnosis, older brother, Jesse, immediately set out to find a way to help Tyler cope with the trials of cancer treatment. As passionate music lovers, Jesse and Tyler found a connection to the Imagine Dragon’s song, "It's Time". Lyrics from the song became their anthem and brought them comfort: "...so this is where you fell and I am left to sell. The path to heaven runs through miles of clouded hell." To understand why this song and in particular these lyrics resonated with these two young men, watch the powerful official TRF video: The Path to Heaven.

Imagine Dragons’ front man and lead singer, Dan Reynolds, heard about Tyler’s story and wanted to meet him during a show in Utah. Tyler went on to develop a close friendship with Dan and the other band members, Wayne Sermon, Dan Platzman and Ben McKee.

When this inspiring young man unexpectedly passed away on March 4, 2013, Imagine Dragons and the Robinson family created TRF to honor Tyler and every family fighting this battle.

The TRF is supported by generous corporate sponsors including SAP, Hard Rock, and NTT Data as together they partner with hospitals across the nation including Primary Children’s Medical Center, Mattel’s Children’s Hospital UCLA, and others to assist these families.

Give The Gift Of Wine For Charity! Lovely Robust California Wine!

Toast the holidays with a wine that gives back. By purchasing Jarman Wines you will not only enjoy certified organic ultra premium wines, but you will be supporting a worthy cause, finding a cure for Alzheimer's disease.

Jarman Wines make the perfect hostess gifts and party offerings. Even better, each purchase will help to benefit the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation (ADDF). In addition, the winery has opened a tasting lounge in Carmel Valley that offers three levels of wine tasting and three specially themed picnic packages. Gift certificates for the picnic packages make the perfect holiday gift.

To honor her late mother's memory, Holman Ranch CEO and eldest daughter Hunter Lowder took the best hand-selected estate grapes and created two premium varietals—Jarman Chardonnay and Jarman Pinot Noir—with $1 from each bottle sold going to the ADDF.

Jarman Lowder, Hunter’s mother, grew up in Chattanooga, Tenn., and lived up to being voted “best all around” in high school. She earned a nursing degree, worked as an R.N. and raised three daughters with her husband, Thomas. An active volunteer, animal lover, athlete and enthusiastic traveler, Jarman wanted to spend her golden years making wine with her husband at Holman Ranch, an idyllic piece of property in Carmel Valley, Ca. they purchased to realize that dream. Tragically, Lowder died in March 2011 at age 60 following a long battle with early-onset Alzheimer's disease.

Holman Ranch and Jarman Wines have partnered with the ADDF to support research toward treatment and a cure for Alzheimer’s disease and to celebrate the life of Jarman Lowder.

“We wanted to honor her, give back and increase awareness,” said her daughter Hunter. “Everything we do here and the reason all this exists is because of her.”

“We appreciate the generous support of Holman Ranch and the Lowder family,” says Dr. Howard Fillit, founding Executive Director and Chief Science Officer for the ADDF. “And we are proud that 100 percent of every dollar donated through this partnership will go directly to fund drug research for Alzheimer’s disease.”
Dr. Fillit knew Jarman Lowder personally and was excited by the opportunity to honor her legacy in such a meaningful way.

About Jarman Wines:
Jarman’s terroir (a French word that speaks to a wine’s place of origin, its subtle nuances of traceable character, flavor, lineage and integrity) refers to a special place in Carmel Valley — and also to a special woman, family matriarch Jarman Fearing Lowder, who inspired a family to bottle the essence of a mother’s spirit.

A Jarman wine reflects quality, with only the best local grapes used during an artisanal, small-batch winemaking process.

 - Newest offerings from the Jarman estate include; 2014 Estate Chardonnay, 2014 Estate Pinot Noir, and 2013 Estate Pinot Noir.

Jarman wine uses only 100-percent estate-grown, certified organic and certified sustainable grapes. Aged in French oak barrels, Jarman’s vintages are held in limited supply, and are not available anywhere outside their tasting room in Carmel Valley Village (open noon to 5 p.m., Thurs.-Sun.; or by appointment), next to the historical Will’s Fargo Restaurant & Bar, the restaurant the family purchased in 2014.

The tastings will feature full-fledged experiences, including tours and wine education, and each culinary parings that complements the wine. The new Jarman Tasting Lounge & Patio provides visitors with four unique experiences: Vin de Table, Cru Tasting, Premier Cru Experience and the Grand Cru Experience.
