Ignacio Zaragoza Cocktail
1 ½ oz                    oregano-infused tequila
4 oz                        fresh tomato juice
1 tbsp                    lemon juice
dash                      tabasco
pinch                     celery salt
½ cup                    ice
1 stalk                   celery
1 slice                    bacon, cooked

Oregano-Infused Tequila - Wrap 1 tbsp oregano in a cheesecloth and tie with kitchen twine. Macerate the oregano in 1 liter of tequila, letting sit for two days to a month. Remove the oregano and filter the tequila through a cheese cloth.

Combine tequila, tomato juice, lemon juice and tabasco in a shaker. Shake and serve over ice. Garnish with celery and bacon.

Victoria Tropicale
1 ½ oz                    Mezcal Amores
dash                      lemon
dash                      simple syrup
½ pc                       kiwi
½ slice                  pineapple
½ cup                    crushed ice
1 tbsp                    Tajin (chili salt)

Combine the kiwi and pineapple in a blender, and strain to separate the liquid from the pulp. Pour liquid into a shaker along with the mezcal, simple syrup, lemon juice and ice. Shake strongly. Serve in a martini glass previously rimmed with tajin chili salt.

Mexican Bite

Mexican Bite
1 ½ oz                    PAMA Pomegranate Flavored Liqueur
1 ½ oz                    Montelobos Mezcal
1½ oz                     cranberry juice
½ tbsp                   simple syrup
½ tbsp                   lemon juice
½ cup                    crushed ice

Combine the PAMA, mescal, cranberry juice, simple syrup, and lemon juice in a shaker. Shake strongly and pour over ice in a glass.

2000 Martini
1 ½ oz                    vodka
1 oz                        lemon juice
1 oz                        simple syrup
1/3                         cucumber
1 tsp                      coriander
½ cup                    crushed ice
1 tbsp                    Tajin (chili salt)

Macerate cucumber with coriander in shaker.  Add the vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup and ice. Shake strongly. Serve in a martini glass previously rimmed with tajin chili salt.

A Week-End Of Fun For Cinco De Mayo...YES At The Plaza Hotel & Casino

Located in the heart of downtown Las Vegas, the Plaza Hotel & Casino has a weekend full of festivities planned for the Cinco de Mayo holiday.

Under the dome, guests will be greeted with a DJ and festive décor, including an eight foot tall piñata that will be popped at 6 p.m., a photo booth with life size Fiesta Couple cutouts, and Pin the Tail on the Burro for guests 21 years of age and older that will yield gaming, food and drinks prizes.

Zaba’s Mexican Grill will be selling refreshments under the dome May 5-7 from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m., including chicken and beef burritos for $5 as well as chips and guacamole for $3. Beer Garden will also offer a $15 Mexican beer bucket special and tequila shots for $3 each.

Elsewhere at the Plaza, there will be special entertainment Thursday, May 5 through Saturday, May 7.  Los Gitanoz will play top 40 Spanish and English hits in the Omaha Bar, located off of the casino floor, on Thursday, May 5 from 8:30 p.m. to midnight. Hugo Mix Rancheras will perform Cumbia and the top 20 Spanish Billboard hits in the Beer Garden next to the Plaza’s iconic dome May 5-6 from 5 to 10 p.m. and May 7, 2 to 10 p.m.

Oscar’s steakhouse inside the iconic glass dome will offer a special cocktail to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. On May 5, Palomas made with Cazadores Reposado Tequila, Crème de Pamplemousse, Jarritos Grapefruit Soda, lime juice and a pinch of salt and served on the rocks in a Burgundy glass with a Grapefruit garnish will be available for $7.

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” Battle of the Seasons Comes To Vegas

Friday night, The Pearl at Palms Casino Resort was filled with “eleganza” as “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Battle of the Seasons (BOTS) took over the intimate venue for the world’s biggest touring drag revue, based on the international megahit television show, which featured dancing, singing, lip sync performances, high heels, sequins and a whole lotta sass.

The “Battle of the Seasons” tour, now in its third consecutive year of growth, was hosted by hilarious series judge Michelle Visage and included an all-star cast of past winners, runners up and fan favorites from each season of the show, including: Adore Delano, Alaska Thunderf*ck, Courtney Act, Ginger Minj, Miss Fame, Phi Phi O’hara, and Violet Chachki to name a few.

DJ Pearl got the party started before the extravaganza of the main act which showcased solo and group performances from the queens of the night.
