These "Dogies" Are Staying! NFR To Continue In LV For 10 More Years

For thirty consecutive years, the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo has been held at the Thomas & Mack Center. That streak will continue as Las Vegas Events has reached an agreement with the Thomas & Mack Center to host the Wrangler NFR for a length of up to ten years. In 2015, the rodeo will run from Dec. 3 – 12.

The agreement mirrors the extension that LVE and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority signed with the PRCA in January 2014 that keeps the world’s richest and most prestigious rodeo in Las Vegas through 2024.

First held at the Thomas & Mack Center in 1985, the Wrangler NFR has become a December tradition in Las Vegas. In 2014, the event reached an all-time total attendance record of 177,565.

“In our thirty year run in Las Vegas, the Thomas & Mack Center has been our only home,” said Pat Christenson, president of Las Vegas Events. “There are no sightlines in sports as good as those in this arena. The major improvements they are making will greatly enhance the experience for our fans.”

The arena is undergoing a $72 million modernization that includes increased ADA seating, improved ingress/egress with additional entry points into the arena and new seats. Fans will also find new and increased number of restrooms, concessions stands and concourse finishes. In addition, the arena will have a new escalator, concourse space and improved hospitality, with ample meeting space and a 36,000-square foot addition that will overlook the Las Vegas Strip.

"We are very excited to continue this great relationship with Las Vegas Events and the Wrangler NFR,” said Mike Newcomb, the director of the Thomas & Mack Center. “To be able to host one of the premier events in all the world and to work with such great people is a true honor."

Sold out for 280 consecutive performances, the Wrangler NFR attracts the top 15 contestants in bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing, and bull riding as they compete for a share of the $10 million purse. Qualification is based on the 2015 Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association World Standings.

Single Reality Star Scott Disick Hosts Party At 1 Oak In VEGAS!

Friday, July 24 reality television royalty Scott Disick enjoyed a night out in Las Vegas at STACK Restaurant & Bar and 1 OAK Nightclub inside the Mirage Hotel & Casino. Fresh off the plane from LA, Disick got settled in his suite at the resort before making his way down to the restaurant around 10:45 p.m. for a late dinner. Just after midnight, Disick, looking dapper in a gray suit headed to the red carpet and posed for photos while hundreds of fans cheered and shouted his name. Ready to keep the action going, the famous father of three made his way to a VIP table behind the DJ booth where he and his gang were greeted by a display of cocktail waitresses slinging confetti and showcasing a giant crown and oversized Scott head for all to see. Filled with excitement, Disick playfully grabbed the props and posed with them alongside his friends. Shortly after, Disick jumped on the mic to welcome guests for an unforgettable evening at The Strip hot spot, encouraging guests to let loose and enjoy the night. Elevating the energy with hit after hit, DJ Kyle Flesch acted as a party enforcer, customizing his set for every clubgoer in attendance. Disick was seen enjoying himself as he mingled and posed for photos with friends and guests. Back To School Donations Needed! Organized By The CASA Foundation

The CASA Foundation is looking for donations of school supplies for Clark County children in foster care.

Backpacks filled with school supplies will be distributed during the annual CASA Foundation Back-to-School event hosted at Square Salon shortly before school starts. The salon is donating free haircuts, styling and manicures and Toll Brothers luxury home builders is collecting backpacks and school supplies.

“We are expecting as many as 400 children at our event and we want to make sure they are well prepared to go back to school in style,” said Elizabeth Ham, CASA Foundation board trustee. “We are hoping to have enough backpacks to distribute to foster children who attend, as well as those that are unable to make it to the event. “

Items needed include: backpacks, crayons (no glitter, please), pencils, pencil boxes and pouches, wide-ruled spiral notebooks and notebook paper, pocket folders, pink bar erasers, glue sticks, small tissue packs, small pencil sharpeners, colored pencils, markers and rulers.

The CASA Foundation provides funds for the special needs of Clark County children who have become wards of District Court due to abuse and neglect.  The foundation also supports the Court Appointed Special Advocates program, a division of Family Court that trains volunteers to serve as a voice for the children.  More than 1,500 Clark County children live in foster or group homes and another 1,500 are in the care of relatives and under the Department of Family Services supervision.
