Hornung is one of only five players to have earned both the Heisman Trophy as well as football’s prestigious Most Valuable Player award. He is known as one of the most versatile players in football, having played halfback, quarterback and placekicker. Nicknamed the Golden Boy during his tenure at the University of Notre Dame, Hornung moved quickly into professional football as a first-round draft pick by the Green Bay Packers. He was named All-Pro twice and went on to win four league championships with the Packers including the very first Super Bowl in 1967. He was later inducted into the Football Hall of Fame.

LVMS president Chris Powell is inviting President Barack Obama to be the grand marshal for the Shelby American NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Feb. 28. The invitation comes less than 24 hours after the president told a gathering in New Hampshire that Americans shouldn’t “blow a bunch of cash on Vegas” during the current economic climate.
“It’s a shame that the president doesn’t realize the impact of tourism on the Las Vegas economy,” Powell said. “Telling people not to visit Las Vegas is the same as telling them not to buy vegetables would be to a farmer in the Midwest – or telling them not to buy cars would be to an autoworker in Detroit.
“On the last weekend of this month, NASCAR Weekend at the speedway will bring in more than $150 million to the local economy. It will generate 3,000 jobs at the speedway alone. Hotels in town have reduced room rates. We’ve reduced ticket prices. And the races themselves will be a showcase of American knowhow and ingenuity.
“I would love to have the president come to Las Vegas Motor Speedway during NASCAR Weekend and see firsthand how important tourism is to our community. We’ll even let him give the command to start engines. NASCAR Weekend is the largest sporting event in Nevada, and the 300,000 people who visit here during the weekend will surpass any event in Las Vegas in 2010.”
Miss Virginia Caressa Cameron from Fredericksburg, Va. was crowned Miss America 2010 Saturday night at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The final night of the Miss America Pageant was broadcast live from Las Vegas on TLC and hosted by Mario Lopez and TLC’s Clinton Kelly. Caressa's triumphant walk across the stage was just the beginning of a journey that will take her to every corner of the country during her year of service as Miss America 2010. She will travel approximately 20,000 miles each month speaking to audiences about her personal platform of “Real Talk: Aids in America” and acting as the official National Goodwill Ambassador for Children's Miracle Network. Children's Miracle Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children's hospitals, is the national platform partner of the Miss America Organization.
Now for the other question is this pageant relevant? There is not a cut and dried answer to this question. we live in a 24 hour society that is celebrity obsessed. So in that sense a young accomplished women with an education that strongly believes in a cause and is involved in her community then yes it is relevant! The only advice I would have is to amp up her image and have her do more magazines and TV specials and such! Congratulations to Miss America 2010! One of our nation's last icons that will surely carry us into a brave yew year!

Legendary comedian Carrot Top has announced that he will be holding a national prop contest. The winning prop will be used in Carrot Top’s show at the Luxor Las Vegas and the winning prop creator will be awarded a trip for two to Luxor.
“The idea to do a national prop contest came after we had one specifically for Luxor employees,” said Scott “Carrot Top” Thompson. “There were some really great ones and I still use the winning prop in my show at Luxor. I figured that a national contest would be a lot of fun and Luxor really put together a great prize package. I can’t wait to see what people send in.”
In addition to having their prop used in the Carrot Top show at Luxor, the winning prop maker will win round trip airfare for two, two-night hotel accommodations at Luxor, dinner for two and two tickets to see Carrot Top live at Luxor. Entries will be taken until midnight on May 1, 2010. All props sent in will be judged by members of Carrot Top’s staff and a winner will be announced shortly after the deadline. Better known for her role on the hit reality TV series, The Girls Next Door Bridget Marquardt hosted the Miss Playboy Club Model Search at Playboy Club Sunday night (1.31.10). Accompanied by the monthly winners of Miss Playboy Club Model Search 2009, they partied at a VIP table where they drank Russian Standard Platinum and Perrier Jouet Champagne. Marquardt and the girls were all fashionably dressed and seen dancing and having a great time.
At 12:30 a.m., Marquardt made the grand announcement that Meghan Beck (Miss Playboy Club February 2009) won the title of Miss Playboy Club of the Year 2010.
Earlier that evening, Marquardt and 15 others dined at N9NE Steakhouse. They sat in the main dining room where they feasted on Lobster Pot Stickers, Sashimi, Artichoke Salads, Rib Eye Steaks, Morty’s Lemon Chicken, Scallops and more. For dessert, they took espresso shots.

This past week-end saw UFC fighter Tito Ortiz having a romantic dinner with longtime girlfriend Jenna Jameson at STACK at The Mirage. Jenna and Tito dined on various signature dishes including the Black Cod Miso Lettuce Cups and Kobe Chili Cheese Fries.
Saturday night at HAZE Nightclub at ARIA Resort & Casino saw hip-hop star and producer Timbaland hosting the night. Timbaland arrived with an entourage that included his wife Monique and rap star friends Lil’ Kim, Hayes and Petey Pablo.
Fans were screaming their names when they entered the club that got the entertainers smiling and waving to fans. Timbaland jumped up onstage and performed a few songs including “The Way I Are.” Timbaland was having such a good time and hyping the crowd up that he pulled Lil’ Kim up on stage and performed a few of her hits and then he performed with Petey Pablo and Hayes for the crowd. The foursome had the entire club singing along to their hits.
Also spotted at HAZE was actor Tom Felton who is most known for his role as Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies and celebrity couple, actors Rick Fox and Eliza Dushku. Fox and Dushku dined at UNION Restaurant & Lounge earlier in the night and ordered a number of dishes from the contemporary American menu. In the club, the couple shied away from alcohol and only sipped on waters and Red Bulls while dancing up a storm during the performance. Sunday am they celebrated Valentine’s Day early and enjoyed a couples massage at Vdara Spa.
