Living up to her famous moniker “The Divine Miss M.,” Bette Midler announced she would be collecting monetary donations and matching the amount received from concerned fans through the final performance of The Showgirl Must Go On at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Sun., Jan. 31. So far, the combination of Bette’s fans and her matching donations has resulted in $38,742.62 that will go to aid the relief efforts.

Bette was so overwhelmed by the generosity and caring hearts of her fans after the final amount was totaled that she committed to match monetary donations taken during all shows through the final performance on Sun., Jan. 31, 2010. All funds will go to Doctors Without Borders, an international medical humanitarian organization operating in Haiti.

Fans can still catch all the show’s excitement with Bette’s final performances available now through January 31. Hilton started off the weekend by enjoying an intimate dinner at Nobu with 10 friends including boyfriend Doug Reinhardt. NFL player for the Cincinnati Bengals Larry Johnson dined at N9NE Steakhouse inside Palms Casino resort Saturday night (1.16.10). Joined by a friend, Johnson sipped on a Ketel One mixed drink and FIJI Water. He feasted on the signature Rock Shrimp, tomato salad and chicken rigatoni for dinner. Following their meal, they visited Chef Barry Dakake in the kitchen.

Also at N9NE Steakhouse was professional golf player Tommy Armour III. Armour sat at a the bar to chat with friend and bartender, John O’Donnell. He enjoyed Ketel One and Red Bull cocktails and beer.

At Rain Nightclub, actress Izabella Miko partied at the VIP stage table with eight friends where they sipped on Ketel One mixed drinks. They later made their way upstairs to both Playboy Club and Moon Nightclub, where they enjoyed the scene and Ketel One cocktails from their VIP tables. Miko, wearing a black dress, was celebrating her 29^th birthday.

On Friday night (1.15.10), musician Kid Capri (real name Anthony Love) was at Rain Nightclub. He enjoyed the scene with five others from the VIP table on stage, where they drank Ketel One.

Miko also partied with eight friends at a VIP table on the dance floor.

The American Cancer Society is going to “Paint The Village Purple”

To raise awareness for Relay For Life, the annual fundraising event held by the American Cancer Society, The Village Lake Las Vegas will go purple. “Paint The Village Purple” will be a fun day for the entire family to come out and enjoy activities while supporting a good cause. The American Cancer Society will be accepting donations and have information available on how to sign up for Relay for Life. Guests are encouraged to get a purple “ Boarding Pass ” to participate in ice skating, shopping and dining specials and be entered to win special giveaway prizes! Participants in the Relay For Life will be able to take advantage of early registration.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a fundraising event that gives communities across the world a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember lost loved ones and fight back against the disease. At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park or fairground and take turns walking or running a track or path. Filmmaker Chad Clinton Freeman announces grindhouse film festival

He's been called the "new champion of unabashed B-movie sleaze" by ArrowInTheHead.com. Now it looks like filmmaker and promoter Chad Clinton Freeman (Killer Biker Chicks, Silent Night Zombie Night, Super Undead Doctor Roach) is doing his best to live up to that title. Freeman has announced plans for an event called The Polly Staffle Grindhouse Film Festival to be held at the Sci-Fi Center in Las Vegas this coming May. The festival, which will take place May 13, 14, 15 and 16, is going to consist of four days of programming in the tradition of grindhouse theaters with double features each day, bookended by trailers and music videos. "Thanks to the Sci-Fi Center and various events like Fangoria's Trinity of Terrors, Xanadu, IndieMeet and the filmmakers like Ted V. Mikels and Ron Atkins that live here, Vegas is slowly becoming a hotbed of genre cinema," said Freeman, a member of the Exploitation Film Preservation Society since 1996. "This is my contribution and since CineVegas is on a hiatus this year, it just seems like the perfect time to get this thing going." PollyGrind is currently calling for entries for the festival. Submissions are being accepted January 13 untill March 13. Freeman hopes to announce the official lineup by April 13. All films are required to be submitted here or online via Withoutabox.com.
