Join The #ASK5 To Smash Stress Social Media Campaign To Help Our Youth

For the third week of its monthlong “#Ask5 to Smash Stress” social media campaign for National Stress Awareness Month, Hope Means Nevada (HMN), the community-based non-profit focused on eliminating youth suicide in the state, and campaign sponsor Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield will focus on Relationships. The campaign will be accessible on HMN’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.

#Ask5 to Smash Stress is a peer-to-peer social media campaign that focuses on encouraging teens to connect with their peers and raise awareness that could improve mental wellness and even save lives. Throughout the month, this campaign encourages teens to #Ask5 of their friends how they are doing and provide actionable techniques to foster mental health and wellness. The teens will be encouraged to log onto social media daily to learn about stress-relieving strategies, including how to achieve balance between life and school, mindful eating and healthy body image, fostering healthy relationships, finding a therapist who is the right fit and more. LIT Movie Sunday kicks off on April 16 with a special screening of “For Vegas” followed by a Q&A with director and Las Vegas native Robin Greenspun along with exiled Egyptian writer Ahmed Najihe at Segue. Winner of Best Documentary Feature at the 2023 DC Independent Film Festival and recipient of the Award of Excellence at the Docs Without Borders International Film Festival, “For Vegas” follows Ahmed as he finds his foothold in his adoptive city, striving to understand not only his own life as a writer in exile but the life of a city whose roots were founded as a waystation, a temporary stop for so many over its storied history.

In celebration of Poetry Month, a new progressive presenter series and a pre-show feature entitled FOREWORD makes its debut on April 20 with Las Vegas-based poet Elle Hope, who will introduce a screening of the sci-fi musical movie poem “Neptune Frost.”

Get ready to spice up your taste buds at Borracha Mexican Cantina, located at Green Valley Ranch Resort Spa and Casino, which will offer an oversized, 5-pound burrito to celebrate National Burrito Day from 4 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, April 6.
