June 2 - Herman's Hermits starring Peter Noone
Herman's Hermits starring Peter Noone dominated the '60s along with such big names as the The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. Beginning in England, April 1, 1964, the group has accomplished over 23 his singles, 10 hit albums and 3 major movies. Their top hits include "Mrs. Brown (You've Got a Lovely Daughter)" "Silhouettes," "Dandy," and "Henry VIII."

June 9 - Gary Lewis & the Playboys
Gary Lewis & the Playboys were an American '60s-era pop and rock group, fronted by musician Gary Lewis, the son of comedian Jerry Lewis. They are best known for their 1965 Billboard Hot 100 number-one single "This Diamond Ring," which was the first of a string of hit singles they had in 1965 and 1966. The band had an earnest, boy-next-door image similar to British invasion contemporaries such as Herman's Hermits and Gerry and the Pacemakers. The group folded in 1970, but a version of the band later resumed touring and continues to tour, often playing for veteran's benefits.

June 16 - April Wine
'70s and '80s rock sensations April Wine began their impressive journey in 1969 when they formed in Nova Scotia. Their first studio hit, "Fast Train" propelled them to international stardom. They went on to record 15 studio albums, three live releases, and perform thousands of concerts. April Wine's most memorable hits include "You Could Have Been a Lady," "Just Between You and Me," and "If you Believe in Me."

June 23 - The Buckinghams
After changing their name from The Pulsations to The Buckinghams to reflect the British Invasion craze, this American Sunshine pop group became an overnight sensation. The group put out the wistful "Kind of a Drag," which ending up being a million-selling pop chart-topper. Other major hits for the band include "Don't You Care," "Hey Baby (They're Playing Our Song)," and the pseudo-psychedelic "Susan." The group showed off their R&B roots on the jazz standard "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy," their second-biggest hit.

June 30 - Foghat
"Move to the music, we can move all night." Boogie-blues rockers Foghat will take fans on a journey through their favorite hits including "Slow Ride," "Drivin' Wheel," "I Just Want to Make Love to You," and more. The group, which has performed together for more than 40 years, has earned eight gold albums, one platinum album, and one double platinum album. The band's rollicking performances have garnered it lifelong fans from around the world.

July 7 - The Grass Roots
American rock band The Grass Roots have sold more than 20 million records worldwide. With two gold albums and 13 gold singles, The Grass Roots found their success without obtaining a number one hit, although they got close with three Top 10 singles, three Top 20 and eight Top 40 hits. After the passing of early member Rob Grill in 2011, The Grass Roots still continue to tour and perform for audiences across the United States.

July 14 - Felix Cavaliere's Rascals
The Rascals are considered the best 'blue-eyed soul' group to come out of the 1960s, as well as one of the groups with the most record sales. The Rascals has a string of hits, including the mega hit "Good Lovin," which struck number one in February 1966. They followed suit with a string of hits like "I've Been Lonely Too Long," "Groovin'," "How Can I Be Sure," "A Girl Like You," "A Beautiful Morning," and "People Got to Be Free." The Rascals disbanded in 1972 and Felix Cavaliere's solo career thrived throughout the decade.

July 21 - Quiet Riot
Quiet Riot is an American heavy metal band best known for their hit singles "Come On Feel the Noize" and "Metal Health." They were founded in 1973 by guitarist Randy Rhoads and bassist Kelly Garni under the original name Mach 1, before changing the name to Little Women and finally Quiet Riot in May 1975. The current lineup features lead vocalist James Durbin, drummer Frankie Banali, bassist Chuck Wright, and guitarist Alex Grossi. They are ranked at number 100 on VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock."

July 28 - Ambrosia
Los Angeles quartet Ambrosia, whose founding members included guitarist/vocalist David Pack, bassist/vocalist Joe Puerta, keyboardist Christopher North, and drummer Burleigh Drummond, fused symphonic art rock with a slickly produced pop sound. The group was discovered in 1971 by Los Angeles Philharmonic conductor Zubin Mehta, who featured Ambrosia as part of a so-called All-American Dream Concert. Their first record "Ambrosia" was released in 1975 and spawned the chart singles "Holdin' on to Yesterday" and "Nice, Nice, Very Nice." Ambrosia followed this success in 1980 with another number three hit, "Biggest Part of Me," and the number 13 follow-up "You're the Only Woman."

SO FUN! Pinot's Palette To Celebrate Grand Opening At Town Square

Visitors at Town Square will soon have a new place to bring out their inner artist.

Pinot’s Palette, the popular paint-and-sip studio, will be bringing more fun and creativity to the community when it opens its third Las Vegas valley studio at Town Square on Friday, April 7. Located on the west end of Town Square, across from the Yard House and just below AMC Town Square 18 theater, it’s the sister studio to the Henderson location in The District at Green Valley and Summerlin location in Boca Park. With a slightly smaller, more intimate feel, the Town Square location will hold up to 48 guests in the main studio and 24 guests in the private party room.

To celebrate its opening, Pinot’s Palette is hosting a Grand Opening celebration on Friday, April 7 and Saturday, April 8. The upscale wine and painting experience is partnering with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for a weekend of giving back to the community by “Painting It Forward” while patrons fulfill the Pinot’s Palette motto of “Paint. Drink. Have Fun.” Supporters can sign up for either of the two-hour 7 p.m. classes on Friday or Saturday for $39, with 100 percent of the painting proceeds to be donated to St. Jude. Guests interested in signing up for Friday’s “Pinot in Paradise” class can register online at www.pinotspalette.com/townsquare/event/147378 and Saturday’s “Wild Wine Night” class registration is available at www.pinotspalette.com/townsquare/event/153747.

Local husband and wife team Reed and Judy Alewel are owners of all three Pinot’s Palettes in the Las Vegas area. Prior to opening their first studio in Henderson, Reed was vice president of sales and operations for a leading gaming machine manufacturer in Las Vegas, and Judy was a clinical nurse instructor at College of Southern Nevada. In 2014, Reed was laid off by a downsizing at his corporate employer, which led him to open Pinot’s Palette at The District.  Judy has since left her job to focus on their studios, and together they have created 26 full- and part-time jobs in the Valley.

“We’re so thrilled to open our third Las Vegas Valley studio at Town Square where locals and tourists alike can explore their creativity,” said Reed Alewel. “We are honored to be partnering with the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for our grand opening weekend. They are an extraordinary organization, and we believe that it is important as business owners to give back to the community.”

Pinot’s Palette has been established as the Valley’s most upscale paint-and-sip studio. A great advantage of the franchise is the access to its nationwide library of paintings. With over 1,400 paintings available to guests with a new painting added to the library nearly every day, Pinot’s Palette keeps its content fresh and consistent with current decorating trends. Pinot’s Palette Town Square provides all art supplies needed for each painting class, and is staffed by professional artists that will recreate the featured painting step-by-step with every brushstroke being displayed on a 75-inch monitor. The artists level of instruction is of the highest quality, but this is not an art class. With 22 different wines, and a dozen different beers, along with non-alcoholic offerings, this is a social event. Pinot’s Palette is perfect for date nights, girls’ night out, birthdays, church groups, and more. The three locations will have nearly 100 public classes each month, so there’s something for everyone. More information is available at www.pinotspalette.com/townsquare.

Coming Up! A Taste Of Time Wine Dinner At The Palm Las Vegas

On Thursday, April 13 at 6 p.m., The Palm Las Vegas will host a decadent five-course dinner expertly paired with celebrated wines from Masi Agricola, a seventh-generation estate-owned vineyard in Northern Italy and one of the original producers of Amarone.

Using only varietals found in Venice, Verona and Lake Garda, Masi expertly applies the ancient Roman technique of drying grapes during the winter months to create the concentrated aromas and tastes found in each of their distinct products. Dating back to the 12th century, this technique has yielded unique wines such as Amarone, which has solidified its place as a world-famous Italian product, and Masianco, produced in the original home of pinot grigio. Both driven by great family, food and wine, Masi and The Palm are perfect partners as Masi’s wines pair seamlessly with The Palm’s signature dishes.

“A Taste of Time” wine dinner includes:
Amuse Bouche: a varying spread chosen by the executive chef

First course: Sea scallop crudo served with whipped ricotta, prosciutto and fresh mint paired with Masi Masianco Pinot Grigio

Second course: Lollo Rosso and frisée salad topped with toasted walnuts, crumbled goat cheese and blood orange poppy seed dressing served with Masi Bonacosta Valpolicella Classico

Third course: 18-ounce, 35-day aged, espresso-rubbed prime New York strip served with purple potatoes and aged balsamic rosemary butter accompanied by Masi Costasera Amarone della Valpolicella Classico

Family-style vegetable and potatoes: Honey-glazed baby rainbow carrots and jalapeño and aged cheddar potato puffs

Fourth course: Chocolate pots de crème with dried cherry-port wine reduction and candied hazelnuts accompanied by a glass of Masi Campofiorin Rosso del Veronese

Now through April 30th, partygoers can enter-to-win a weekend-stay in the fully-equipped, eco-friendly shack. Surrounded by a colorful picket-fenced front yard, The Sugar Shack is located in the middle of the party – making guests Gold Spike VIPs for the night.

The Sugar Shack emulates the sustainable-living trend recently set by millennials, downsizing living quarters and maximizing party space. The solar-powered, 344-square-foot abode sits in the heart of Gold Spike’s Backyard boasting sleeping space for five, an elevated loft, and full kitchen, bathroom, and dining areas. The Sugar Shack also features a working fireplace within its picket-fenced “front yard”.

Weekend warriors interested in winning a two-night stay at The Sugar Shack can submit entries online by visiting bit.ly/2oRGqXz. The winner of the contest will be able to invite three friends to stay during the weekend getaway which includes complimentary bottle service on the patio and breakfast at Fiddlestix, for a total prize package valued at $1,500. Winner will be announced May 1st!

Winning a complimentary stay isn’t the only way to score the Downtown digs, as Gold Spike will make The Sugar Shack available to book in early April. Rates will start at $250 per night Sunday through Thursday; Friday and Saturday booking rates will start at $500* (plus tax and resort; blackout dates apply). The Sugar Shack is also available for private events. All guests must be 21+. To book your stay at The Sugar Shack, visit OasisAtGoldSpike.com.
