Open Discussion With Community Panel For "Save The Huntridge" Tonight!

Volunteers involved with the movement to Save The Huntridge – Panelists include: Michael Cornthwaite (entrepreneur), Nicole Sligar (former Huntridge employee and Advisor for Huntridge Foundation), Kathleen Kahr (President of Huntridge Neighborhood Association), Bob Stoldal (City of Las Vegas Historic Preservation Commission), Dave McMahan (musician).

An open forum for the public to ask questions of the team behind the movement to reopen the historic Huntridge Theatre. The discussion will be one hour long with a 30 minute guest Q&A session. The discussion will be moderated by Brian Paco Alvarez (Chairman Liberace Foundation) with a special opening history of the Hunt family by Jonathan Warren (Honorary Consulate of the Principality of Monaco).

Leading Performer Lorena Peril Of "FANTASY" To Exit In The Fall

Lorena Peril, leading lady of the tantalizing adult revue FANTASY at Luxor Hotel and Casino, will step down from her role as the show’s singer this fall. Peril will be leaving the FANTASY stage to perform as “Sandy” in a global tour of “Grease.” Her husband Ray Jon will accompany her, playing the role of “Vince Fontaine.” 

“Although we are sad to see Lorena go, she always will be a part of our FANTASY family,” says Anita Mann, producer of FANTASY. “We love her and are happy she has the wonderful opportunity to travel the world and perform with her husband.”

The FANTASY producers are in the process of making final selections to fill the show’s coveted headlining role with Las Vegas’ greatest singer.  The announcement about FANTASY’s new headliner will be made in the coming months.

Silver Sevens Hotel Debuts Transition From Terrible's!

Completing the final phase of a year-long transition, Silver Sevens Hotel & Casino will welcome a new era for the popular Las Vegas property with a week-long celebration, beginning Monday, July 1.

The property formerly known as Terrible’s Hotel & Casino has undergone an extensive, multi-million dollar renovation with enhancements including new hotel furniture and fixtures, a fully renovated sports book operated by William Hill, a new Corona Cantina bar, the addition of a new hospitality suite and a new guest service center. The exterior of the property also received a refreshed look with the installation of new neon signage to reflect Silver Sevens Hotel & Casino.

Teaching Classes For Teens! Get Them Started!

The Cooking Experience by Mise En Place introduces exciting cooking classes for young adults with their Teen Chef Series all summer long.

The Teen Chef Series is the perfect way for teenagers to explore the culinary field or just learn to cook for themselves with flavor using fresh ingredients and the perfect seasoning. The interactive series also teaches teens to be self-sufficient and to enjoy the process of preparing delicious meals. The five-class series is every Wednesday 2:30 – 4 p.m. through the summer for $200, package must be purchased before July, 2 or one class for $50; classes are open to 13-19 year olds.

Each class in the series focuses on a main ingredient or technique including ramen noodles, munchies and dorm room meals. The ramen noodles course teaches the selection of fresh ingredients, vegetable cuts and homemade broth preparation. The munchies course shows ways to prepare easy snacks like nachos with fresh salsa, smoothies, sandwiches and quick desserts. Learning to cook while in college is a must and the dorm room diner course demonstrates fast meals including microwave appetizers, entrees and desserts.

The Bullring, Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s NASCAR-sanctioned 3/8-mile asphalt oval for local stock car racing, will present its popular Night of Fire on Wednesday, July 3. The highlight of the evening will be a spectacular holiday fireworks display at the end of the program at approximately 10:20 p.m.

Spectator gates will open at 5 p.m. with racing at 6 p.m.
