GRAND Marshall For Pennzoil 400 Announced! LV Raider A.J. Cole

 Sunday’s Pennzoil 400 Presented by Jiffy Lube will kick off in style as Las Vegas Raiders’ two-time All-Pro punter A.J. Cole has been named grand marshal for the 27th annual event. The three-time Pro Bowler will deliver the command to start engines before a massive crowd at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

 “This is going to be a thrill of a lifetime to get to do this,” Cole said. “I know it’s pretty special to be the person chosen to do this, so I promise I will make it memorable. On top of that, I’m looking forward to spending the day taking in all of the excitement of a NASCAR event.”

 

Since joining the Raiders organization in 2019, Cole has been named to the All-Pro First-Team twice and selected for the Pro Bowl three times. For the 2023-2024 season, Cole led the NFL in net punting average and had the most punts stopped inside the 20. Cole was the Raiders nominee for the 2022 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award, recognizing outstanding excellence on and off the field through exceptional community service.

 

The Raider has achieved several records, notably setting the NFL record with an average of 63.6 yards per punt in a game against the New York Giants, totaling 318 yards. Additionally, he holds the franchise record for the longest punt at 83 yards.

 Eight Lounge, the lush cigar and cocktail lounge at Resorts World Las Vegas, has more than cigars and whiskey to offer patrons of the arts, as they host the debut solo showcase of local self-taught artist David Leiserowitz and his recent foray into cubism and absurdism. The debut solo exhibition of local Las Vegas artist David Leiserowitz, entitled “From Nothing to Something,” highlights and showcases Leiserowitz's development as an artist as he progresses through a broad variety of styles and techniques. Prominently focusing on a contemporary blend between realism and cubism, the collection explores the abstract with the deconstruction of familiar objects, characters and figures to invite the viewer to experience and contemplate the relationship between familiarity and novelty. The exhibition opens with a private showing running from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 29, before becoming open to the public until its closing at 3 a.m. on Monday, March 4.

 The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower will go green on St. Patrick’s Day by lighting its iconic 1,149-foot tower green and by offering a lucky assortment of Irish fare, festive drinks and more, available exclusively from Friday, March 13 through Sunday, March 17.

 The STRAT will offer a variety of spirited drinks at PT’s Wings & Sports, REMIX Lounge, View Lounge and 108 Drinks, including green Bud Light draft beers, priced at $5; complimentary green Jell-O shots; and shots of Jameson Irish Whiskey with a pickle juice back, priced at $8. PT’s Wings and Sports and View Lounge will also offer an Irish Slammer made with Jameson Irish Whiskey, Baileys Irish Cream liqueur and Guinness Draught, priced at $10.

 

Traditional Irish flavors will also be available with featured fare, available at The STRAT’s restaurants.
