Budweiser Clydesdales To Make Appearance For Beer Park Opening!

Beer Park, located at Paris Las Vegas, will celebrate its highly-anticipated grand opening with the world famous Budweiser Clydesdales leading off a countdown to the Big Game. Starting at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30, the legendary horses will take their first trot down Las Vegas Boulevard to commemorate the occasion.

The procession will culminate at the entryway to Beer Park in front of Paris Las Vegas, where Clark County Commissioner Mary Beth Scow will present an official proclamation, and will join representatives from Beer Park, Caesars Entertainment and Anheuser-Busch to tap the first keg.

The Clydesdales will also be available for photo opportunities from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31 in front Beer Park, on the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard in front of the Paris Las Vegas valet.

Beer Park will be the Las Vegas Strip’s first rooftop bar and grill, complete with an outdoor grill; picnic tables;  more than 100 draft, can and bottle beer selections including 36 beers; wine; and craft beer cocktails on tap. All-American cuisine will be served from the menu and from roaming carts serving concession-style offerings, as well as meats and other foods prepared on a custom-made Budweiser Beechwood Grill. Beer Park will be a hub for sports viewing, with an array of TVs throughout the venue, giving each seat optimum views. Inspired by "a day at the park,”  spiral staircase leads to the upper level, revealing an open-air “park,” designed to bring people together through seating that encourages social interaction, including communal picnic tables; and a grassy lawn to play classic bar games including pool, bean bag toss and darts. On Saturday, January 16, Academy Award-winning Three 6 Mafia member DJ Paul dined at Andiamo Italian Steakhouse at the D Las Vegas with his son, Nautica. The father and son duo were both celebrating their birthdays, and were presented with two elaborate birthday cakes fit for the occasion.

Raving about the recent “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” movie that the family had seen earlier that day, Nautica received a “Star Wars” themed birthday cake, decked with character figurines. DJ Paul was presented with a four-layer Oscar-themed cake by the D’s CEO and owner Derek Stevens and casino executive Richard Wilk. When asked his Oscar predictions, DJ Paul revealed that he believed Lady Gaga or The Weeknd would win an award for ‘Best Original Song’ this year.

Sin City Opera presents Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s beloved opera buffa, Così Fan Tutte at the Winchester Cultural Center February 12th – 21st, 2016.  This turn of the century, steampunk-influenced adaptation is produced by the local and cutting-edge Sin City Opera, whose objective it is to “push the boundaries of opera and how it relates to us as a community.  We did not want to present a standard version of the opera in which the two female leads are easily duped by mistaken identity.  Instead we wanted to present strong female characters that are more interested in science and invention than just swooning over sweet words.”

International Director & Choreographer, Tammy Pessagno, will make her Sin City Opera directorial debut with Così Fan Tutte.  Tammy started her career as a Broadway dancer with multiple U.S. and International tours under her belt.  She moved to Las Vegas in 1994 and became an Artist in Residence at UNLV and created curriculum for the Las Vegas Academy.  Dean Balan will take his first turn as Maestro of the SCO Orchestra with this thoughtful and bold production.  Dean is currently the Sin City Opera Chorus Master and rehearsal pianist as well as a much sought-after collaborative pianist throughout the Las Vegas valley. Downtown Las Vegas’ most popular new gastropub, Therapy, has introduced an array of new food and drink selections for the winter season.

The new dishes highlight the creative spirit behind the restaurant and include a collection of entrées and shared plates in addition to remaining favorites. Therapy has also updated its lunch menu served daily from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

New items on the handheld menu include a lavash flatbread, topped with spicy remoulade sauce, finocchiona, Calabrese salami, shaved fennel, arugula, roasted tomato and parmesan cheese, priced at $13; and a Portobello mushroom sandwich, with a large Portobello mushroom marinated in olive oil, white balsamic vinegar, garlic and thyme served on a potato bun with alfalfa sprouts, arugula, tomato and romesco sauce, priced at $12.

Therapy has rolled out new large-plate winter selections such as Dominic’s hunters chicken, served on a bed of Yukon mashed potatoes, sautéed cipollini onions and mushroom sauce, priced at $19; sliced chimichurri steak marinated for eight hours in lime, orange, jalapeno, cilantro, garlic and olive oil and served with a chimichurri sauce and fried onion strings, priced at $19; and McKinnley’s braised short ribs, braised for four hours, served on a bed of sweet potato puree and dusted with Chinese Five Spice and garnished with cipollini onions, priced at $19.

Additional unique new offerings include fire-roasted carrots in brown butter, topped with vanilla bourbon maple syrup, feta cheese and tiny raw carrots, priced at $8; charred Brussels sprouts tossed with roasted cashews, butter, whole grain mustard and parmesan cheese, priced at $8; pulled pork sliders with slow cooked pork shoulder, Cattleman’s BBQ sauce and a mustard cabbage slaw, priced at $12, and super mac with orecchiette pasta mixed with Therapy’s signature cheese blend, priced at $10.

Therapy offers a select lunch menu available daily with new items including a chicken-fried sub sandwich with scallion mayo slaw and truffle fries, priced at $12; a chicken salad sandwich with lemon tarragon dressing, cranberries andalfalfa sprouts, served with a mixed green salad; priced at $12; and other favorites from the dinner menu. Therapy is open from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday through Wednesday, 11:30 a.m. to midnight on Thursday and 11:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
