Aliante Casino Will Debut New Players Club Card In February

Chinese New Year Has Arrived At The Venetian/Palazzo! It's Monkey Time!

Chinese New Year has arrived inside The Waterfall Atrium and Gardens of The Palazzo Las Vegas. To commemorate the Year of the Monkey, The Venetian and The Palazzo's floral and horticulture team worked with a team of artisans and consulted a Feng Shui master to create the massive Chinese New Year display.

Throughout The Venetian and The Palazzo, guests will find 78 handcrafted monkeys, each with a unique, hand-painted face. The main feature of the display is the five-foot tall, 300-pound Monkey King seated at the base of the 38-foot-tall wishing tree. His chest plate is made up of more than 8,000 hand-sewn gold coins and he is draped in Swarovski crystals. Among the wishing tree's 8,000 branches of golden foliage are 28 young and somewhat mischievous monkeys. The number 28 is an auspicious number in Chinese culture, representing "easy fortune." There are also eight giant, hand-painted peaches covered in Swarovski crystals. The monkeys that are extending a peach are wishing guests a long life.

The display also features:

88 gold and red six-foot lanterns that are suspended over the walkways of the Waterfall Atrium and Gardens

More than 1,000 blooming flowers including golden Phalaenopsis, cymbidium orchids, chrysanthemums, and Oriental lilies

More than 1,200 plants including phormium grasses, philodendrum, Ogon grass, tangerine trees, lucky bamboo trees, ivy, ferns, and cast-iron plants 

Guests can experience the Chinese New Year display through end of February.

Yoga Workshop With Ashley Cottrell Tomorrow 1/19 At The D!

Ashley Cottrell from The Yoga Couple will be leading a 2 hour yoga workshop with guided meditation called "Foundations for Practice".

Bio:
Ashley Cottrell is the co-creator of Evolution Yoga and known for her inspirational style of teaching that incorporates not only the physical aspects of yoga, but also the spiritual. Known on social media as The Yoga Couple with her husband Mathew, Ashley shares her practice daily on platforms such as Periscope and Instagram where she has created an online yoga community that inspires through the shared journey of yoga. Ashley was motivated to investigate the wisdom of natural healing, alternative medicine, and yoga at a young age. Watching her mother suffer from multiple spinal injuries and a prescription drug addiction pushed Ashley to look beyond the traditional methods of Western Medicine for answers. At age 21 she began the journey of teaching yoga with hopes to inspire her mother and the world to learn the methods of self healing. Her classes integrate dynamic vinyasa flow with alignment, meditation, breath awareness, visualization and intention that create a journey of healing and happiness.

Legendary Rock Band Styx Blows The Roof Off The Pearl

Styx never disappoints in their live performances and Saturday night was no exception. The group took to the stage of The Pearl at Palms Casino Resort with all the energy and electricity as they have for the past five decades of their careers. The group performed hits including “Rockin’ the Paradise,” “Snow Blind,” “Fooling Yourself,” and fan favorite “Renegade” from the Pieces of Eight album.  Original bassist Chuck Panozzo made an appearance and joined them for a few songs.
