Sands® Cares Raises $32K For At Risk Children W/Clayton Kershaw

Sands® Cares, the global corporate citizenship program from Las Vegas Sands® recently donated $32,000 to Kershaw's Challenge, the charitable foundation of All-Star pitcher Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw's Challenge encourages people to make an impact in the lives of at-risk children and communities in need. For the second year in a row, The Venetian and The Palazzo accepted the pitcher's "Challenge" and pledged $100 per Kershaw strikeout during the 2015 baseball season. Kershaw's 320 strikeouts (301 in the regular season and 19 in the postseason) garnered $32,000 for the foundation.

"Our partnership between Kershaw's Challenge and The Palazzo started a few years ago. They came alongside of us with the thought of striking out to serve just like we did, so they started donating per strikeout," said Clayton Kershaw. "It's been an amazing partnership and now they're one of our sponsors in our ping pong event we do in LA every year. Really at the end of the day, we're just all trying to help some kids out. It's a really cool partnership."

As part of the partnership, Clayton Kershaw attended a game at The Miracle League of Las Vegas, an organization that offers individuals with cognitive and/or physical challenges the opportunity to play baseball. Kershaw pitched for both of the teams that were in attendance.

"We went over to the Miracle League field, and we got to watch a game. I got to pitch to these kids," Kershaw said. "All of the kids had disabilities so this field was made just for them to play baseball. It was really cool for me to see these kids get the chance to play baseball which otherwise they couldn't if they didn't have this field."

Chef Gordon Ramsay Surprises Dining Guests With Appearances!

Chef Gordon Ramsay with anniversary dessert trio
In honor of the three year anniversaries of his restaurants, Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill at Caesars Palace and Gordon Ramsay BurGR at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, Chef Gordon Ramsay personally surprised guests at each restaurant with a special dessert trio featuring three signature desserts from his three Las Vegas restaurants.

Photo 1: Chef Gordon Ramsay with anniversary dessert trio- Credit Erik Kabik

On Wednesday, Dec. 9, Chef Gordon Ramsay paid a special visit to his restaurant at Caesars Palace where he surprised the entire restaurant with the dessert trio. The anniversary dessert trio is comprised of Spotted Dic from Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill (steamed bread pudding with raisins & cream sauce), Sticky Toffee Pudding from Gordon Ramsay Steak (sweet pudding cake, brown sugar toffee, brown butter ice cream) and the Vanilla Shake with Brulee Pudding from Gordon Ramsay BurGR. The trio is available for $10 now through December 23 in all three Las Vegas restaurants.

After taking the time to greet his fans at Pub & Grill, Chef Ramsay headed over to BurGR at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino where he shocked guests by personally delivering the trio of desserts to the entire restaurant once again.

Chef Gordon Ramsay surprises guests at Gordon Ramsay BurGR
Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill opened at Caesars Palace on Dec. 10, 2012, and Gordon Ramsay BurGR opened at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Dec 17, 2012.  Two restaurants from the same chef opening within one week of each other in two different casino resorts on the Las Vegas Strip is a monumental feat that has not been repeated since. Earlier that same year, Ramsay opened his first Las Vegas restaurant, Gordon Ramsay Steak.  To date, Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill has sold 165,650 orders of his signature Fish & Chips, and BurGR has sold a staggering 1,560,482 burgers.

Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill at Caesars Palace offers guests the U.K. chef’s interpretation of an English pub experience. The restaurant features elevated pub food in a comfortable and lively setting, with an atmosphere perfect for catching sporting events from around the world or for a friendly seated meal. The pub includes 36 beers served on tap plus 24 bottled beers, including Innocent Gun, Chef Ramsay’s favorite beer.

Gordon Ramsay BurGR takes the traditional burger, fries and milkshake comfort food combination to an entirely new level with selections such as pork belly bao buns, sweet potato fries with vanilla powdered sugar and pudding shakes—a heavenly combination of thick milkshake and silky pudding. With a location that draws on the energy of both the casino and the nearby Miracle Mile shops, the room is electric, with a bright, stylish and modern design.  The vividly colored room seats 200 and is accented by an undulated ceiling, steel and concrete floor, keg display, open kitchen and 30 foot fire feature.

The Budweiser Clydesdales Arrive At MGM For NFR!

The “Home of The Champions,” MGM Grand kicked off this year’s Wrangler National Finals Rodeo yesterday, Thursday, Dec. 3, in true championship fashion with a rodeo legend and a champion team of horses.  MGM Grand rolled out the red carpet to welcome the arrival of the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales.  Eight-time NFR champion and rodeo legend Roy Cooper joined the arrival as he rode atop the wagon alongside the two drivers and a Dalmatian.

After pulling into Main Valet, Cooper proudly presented a case of Budweiser to MGM Grand President and COO Scott Sibella.  The two friends posed for pictures and then stepped away, allowing for the large crowd to take pictures of the iconic eight-horse hitch.  Following the photos in Valet, the Budweiser Clydesdales relocated to entrance of the Boot Barn Christmas Corral, located in the Marquee Ballroom at the MGM Grand Convention Center, and continued to pose for pictures with guests and shoppers.
