New Beer Park By Budweiser Coming To Paris Las Vegas In Jan. 2016
Starting in early January, visitors to Las Vegas can enjoy a bird’s eye view and an ice cold brew at the new Beer Park by Budweiser at Paris Las Vegas, the city’s first rooftop bar and grill.
Located on a 10,000-square-foot deck overlooking the world famous Las Vegas Strip, Beer Park will feature an outdoor grill, picnic tables, and more than 100 draft, can and bottle beer selections, including 36 beers on tap. The bar menu will also include craft beer cocktails, signature cocktails and wines on tap, as well as other wines and specialty drinks, including an array of Bloody Marys. The atmosphere will be ideal for watching football games and other sporting events, with towers on each side of the bar housing dozens of high-definition televisions, which offer premium views of the game from any seat.
“Beer Park is inspired by some of the great American pastimes that bring people together; things like going to the ball park for a baseball game, a tailgate party or a picnic at a neighborhood park,” says Matthew Silverman, corporate executive chef of Beer Park. “It’s a treat for the senses, being outdoors and smelling food cooking on the grill, drinking a cold beer, and watching the game while enjoying the view of the Strip from all around you.”
“Anheuser-Busch and Budweiser are excited to launch Beer Park as a first-of-its-kind destination on the Vegas Strip,” said Josh Halpern, Vice President, On-Premise Sales at Anheuser-Busch. “Details like the Budweiser Beechwood Grill and the beer-food pairings make this place a dream for beer drinkers and food lovers alike, and we’ve made sure that the personalities of our brands will enhance the consumer experience in different ways.”
All-American cuisine will be served from the menu as well as from roaming carts serving concession-style offerings. Grill selections are the specialty, with meats and other foods prepared on a custom-made Budweiser Beechwood Grill, which imparts the flavor of the beer into anything from burgers, brisket, ribs or sausages.
All food selections will lead back to Beer Park’s namesake offering, with a recommended pairing for every item, as well as items that will be prepared using different types of beer such as bratwurst bathed in Goose Island IPA and pickles prepared using Stella Artois Cidre. Beer Park will take stadium sweets over the top with items like gourmet funnel cakes and a signature ice cream cart.
Chicago-based design firm, Gensler, has created an atmosphere that combines the feel of a classic baseball stadium and the communal charm of a city park with the spirit of Budweiser; a nostalgic combination that evokes Americana charm. The arrival begins on the lower level, where takeaway offerings such as souvenir cups filled with takeaway daiquiris and beer will be available for purchase. A spiral staircase leads to the upper level, revealing an open-air “park,” designed to bring people together through various seating experiences, including communal picnic tables that encourage socializing and a grassy lawn to play classic bar games like pool, bean bag toss and darts.
High top tables line the rail overlooking the Las Vegas Strip, and a private VIP area is ideal for corporate outings, bachelor parties and other large parties. A rectangular bar is the centerpiece of the room, seating 80 guests. The dining room seats approximately 200 guests, and in total, the space accommodates up to 500 guests.
Modern touches infiltrate the classic design of wood with metal accents, with high-tech features such as taps that pour beers at 31 degrees, the optimal temperature for Budweiser, as well as cold “plates” at each seat of the bar to keep beers cool. Customizable audio is available in various parts of the venue, including the VIP room. A DJ booth is located near the gaming and VIP area, where a DJ will spin weekends and other nights, as well as for special events. A retractable awning offers shade in the daytime, and a view of the stars at night. Misters and heaters ensure a climate-controlled atmosphere any time of year.
Beer Park will be open daily from lunch through late night, transitioning into a bar setting for guests 21 and over at 10 p.m., with early morning openings along with breakfast for football and other morning sporting events. Beer Park is also available for private events and full buyouts, for anything from rehearsal dinners to corporate parties. The phone number for Beer Park is 702.444.4500 the website is www.beerpark.com, and information about private events is available via email at info@beerpark.com. A GREAT Family Book For The Holidays! Pick Up A Copy Of "Reindeer Dust"
All around the world, families are preparing for a season of magic. Many holiday traditions have existed throughout the years, but one tradition that is quickly sweeping the nation is the fun and festive ritual of sprinkling “reindeer dust” on Christmas Eve to attract Santa’s reindeer. A perfect way to spend time together and get every member of the family in the spirit, it’s no wonder reindeer dust is such a hit; but where and why did the tradition begin?
Kate Dwyer explains in her magical new holiday picture book, Reindeer Dust. In a fun and lyrical tale, readers are immersed in the story of hungry and harried reindeer who can’t find houses to land on through thick fog. Santa has a sled overflowing with presents, but he’ll never be able to deliver them if the reindeer don’t know where to land! One little boy, William, devises a plan: he mixes up a special batch of reindeer dust and he and his friends and family sprinkle it outside while reciting “I will always believe!” Through the fog, the reindeer are able to spot the glittering trail of reindeer dust, and Christmas is saved!
Dwyer, a mother of two and passionate advocate for children’s advancement and literacy, knew she had to share the magic behind reindeer dust when her own family became so attached to the yearly tradition. She aimed to engage children’s imaginations through family participation.
“It was important for me to write a book that features an engaging element that would both visually and physically bring the story to life,” Dwyer says.
With a captivating tale and beautiful illustrations, Reindeer Dust is sure to do just that. After reading about the origin of reindeer dust, families can turn to the back of the book, where there is a special Reindeer Dust Recipe and poem to recite on Christmas Eve. Children will stay engaged and parents will love that reindeer dust encourages a fun and positive new tradition. Why not add a little extra sparkle to the holidays?

Back by popular demand, the Boss of the Bars Cocktail Competition will take place during the Museum’s Repeal Day festivities. Open to all bars comprising downtown’s dynamic nightlife scene, the winning bar will receive the monumental, custom-designed Repeal Day Cup to display on their premises until next year’s competition. Last year’s winning bar was Atomic Liquors. In addition to having its name engraved on the Repeal Day Cup for all posterity, the winning bar will also receive a proclamation from the City of Las Vegas deeming it the victor in the “Boss of the Bars” contest. Competitors will craft Prohibition-era-inspired cocktails for a panel of judges including Al Mancini, food and beverage writer, blogger and author; Joy Robertson, host and producer, FoodChannel.com; and Xania Woodman, senior editor, dining, beverage and nightlife, Vegas Seven. Also joining as a judge this year will be Scott Deitche, author of “Cocktail Noir: From Gangsters and Gin Joints to Gumshoes and Gimlets,” a lively look at the intertwining of alcohol and the underworld. Deitche will sign copies of his book the day prior, December 4, from 1-5 p.m. in the Museum retail store.
Also a returning highlight of this year’s Repeal Day at The Mob Museum: the Roaring 20s Costume Contest. Judges for this year’s event will include Deirdre Clemente, assistant professor of history, associate director of the public history program, University of Nevada Las Vegas; Jennifer Le Zotte, adjunct instructor of 20th Century American culture and assistant professor at University of Nevada, Reno; Debrae Little, longtime costume designer for stars of opera and the stage; Jen Taler, operating partner, Stitch Factory; and Polly Weinstein, owner, The Jeweler’s Daughter.
General admission tickets for the event, which runs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., are $39.95 if purchased before Nov. 15 ($45.95 if purchased later) and include Museum access, Boss of the Bars Competition, two free drink tickets, signature menu by Relish, cigars for purchase, casino table games, Roaring 20s costume contest and performances by cabaret dancers and a jazz swing band. VIP Party tickets are $59.95 if purchased before Nov. 15 ($65.95 if purchased later) or two for $100 and include all aspects of the Repeal Day Party, as well as early access (at 6 p.m.), open bar, speakeasy atmosphere and 1920s dance lessons.

On draught at both venues is a proprietary saison pale ale from Las Vegas’ CraftHaus Brewery that pays homage to The Mirage’s tropical rainforest theme. Fresh mangos and a generous amount of Australian summer hops make this brew light, fruity and refreshing.
Center Bar
Located steps away from The Mirage’s iconic atrium, Center Bar’s name tells you all you need to know in order to find it. Inspired by the 'golden hour', just before day turns to night, Center Bar is awash with warm amber hues and rich oranges with hints of blue. The open atmosphere places guests in the heart of the action on the casino floor – a prime spot for people watching from day to night.
Mirage Spritz: a true crowd pleaser, this sparkling libation made with Grey Goose vodka, Giffard Pamplemousse Liqueur, Chareau Aloe Vera Liqueur, fresh lemon, pomegranate juice and Prosecco has a touch of sweetness and just the right amount of fizz.
Baller Old Fashioned: a modern take on the classic made with Angel’s Envy boutique bourbon, Tippleman’s Barrel-smoked Maple Cordial and Bittercube Cherry Bark Vanilla Bitters.
Jack Rose: made with Laird’s Bonded Apple Brandy, one of the first spirits ever produced in the United States, house-made pomegranate molasses and fresh lime. Modern, yet approachable, The Armed Forces cocktail is created with Kappa Pisco, Leblon Cachaca, Small Hands Orgeat Almond Syrup, sweet strawberries and fresh lemon.
Beginning Wednesday, Nov. 24, Typhoon, a tropical specialty cocktail served in a limited edition tiki mug designed specifically for The Mirage will be available for $35.
Parlor Lounge
Parlor Lounge offers guests an intimate setting to enjoy cocktails and conversation complete with sophisticated sounds from a classic Steinway Grand Piano. Dark, paneled woods, burnished bronze, and accents of emerald come together to create a space that is classic and inviting. Pierce’s menu of inventive cocktails combines strong, bold flavors that create unexpected harmony finished with appealing edible garnishes. Highlights include:
Wise Guys are Rye’s Guys: a rich cocktail with herbal notes made with Woody Creek Rye, Cocchi Barolo Chinato fortified wine, Nux Alpina walnut liqueur, cold brew coffee, Bittercube orange bitters and garnished with a chocolate honey pop.
The Layup: a clean, crisp drink prepared with Aylesbury Duck vodka infused with green bell pepper, Chareau aloe vera liqueur, Skinos Mastiha – a Mediterranean spirit with notes of cucumber, pine, anise, fresh herbs and garnished with a fresh cucumber and Peychaud’s bitters.
The Skara Brae: a twist on the original Rob Roy cocktail created in 1894, made with Highland Park Dark Origins scotch, Gran Classico Amaro, Vedrenne Crème de Cacao, Grand Marnier, a touch of cardamom cream, nutmeg and garnished with a honey cluster.
The Hiker’s Delight: a granola bar-inspired concoction created with Averna Amaro, Kina I’Avion d’Or- an apertif wine with essences of quince, orange peel and cinchoa bark, Lustau Solera Reserva Sherry, fresh lime, mint and garnished with a dried apple blossom.
